Dogs are descended from wolves. When dogs dream, they dream of mauling their owners. Again, it's that wolf thing...

Dogs have a terrific sense of smell due to their super-powered noses. The breed with the best sense of smell is the Long-nose  Bloodhound, with a nose nearly 3 feet long.

Dogs pant so they can cool off. Their nose generates heat, so they need to blow off steam through their mouths.

Dog noses are similar to a human fingerprint, they are all unique. But if you are arrested, don't try to fingerprint your nose.

Dogs can understand between 165-250 words. So when a dog misbehaves, it doesn't mean they don't understand you. It simply means they don't like you.

Smaller dogs live longer than larger dogs. Starving a larger dog so it's smaller won't make it live longer.

The Great Dane is the tallest breed of dog, standing nearly 9 ft tall. The smallest is the Chihuahua, at less than 4 inches tall. It is not recommended to interbreed these dogs for obvious reasons.

Dogs bark when they are frightened, or angry, or hungry... or for about any reason at all. If you bark back at them, it won't stop a dog from barking. But he may bite you. 

Male dogs mark their territory by peeing. Much like humans do.
