A Christmas Carol

“A Christmas Carol,” written by Charles Dickens and published in 1843, tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a greedy and ill‑tempered businessman who hates Christmas and all cheerful people.

For him, there is nothing to be joyful about, since the Christmas holidays are nothing but a waste of time and money.

However, after having a nightmare in which his deceased colleague appears to him in a pitiful state—forced to pay for having been a selfish and materialistic person in life—Scrooge is warned that he will be visited over the course of three nights by three spirits: the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come.

By the end of these encounters, will Scrooge be able to recognize his mistakes and redeem himself, becoming a better person? And will he finally change his mind about Christmas Day?

“A Christmas Carol” is a truly moving and powerful tale. Though short, it leaves a lasting mark on the hearts of its readers and stirs the emotions of all kinds of people, from the most sensitive to the most cynical.

It is a story you absolutely won’t regret reading.

If you’ve never read it, hurry and buy a copy before Christmas Eve—this will make that day feel even more magical for you.

I loved reading it the first time, and it will certainly remain a story I’ll enjoy revisiting every year during the holiday season.
