Test driving the Crypto Dust vacuum cleaners - WEEX vs LBank

By LiaRio | and of course crypto | 4 hours ago

After MexC went all mandatory KYC, we lost the services of MexC’s Dust Convertor feature. The hunt was on to fill the void. As previously posted the candidates were narrowed down to WEEX and LBank. So far so good.

Note: one reader reported not being able to access the WEEX platform. Geo-blocked. Didn’t get into the details, as to the whys and where fores.

Main platform criteria

What we considered in choosing WEEX and LBank were:

  • the 8 tokens that we are collecting in 2026 were listed (from @MarkHelfman 2005 Top 10 Protocol report)
  • deposits accepted for the  8 tokens
  • withdrawal of the tokens was allowed, Apparently it is not a given
  • accepts deposits of the Crypto Dust

Sources Crypto Dust

  • obviously USDC (OP) from Ole Faithfull
  • SOL from Solpick and Solfaucet (currently going direct to the Grandsons Ledger Nano wallet)
  • LTC from FreeLitecoin

WEEX

  • accepts USDC (OP) deposits
  • withdrawals USDC (ARB), minimum $5, 5sec, 0.2 USDC fee
  • doesn’t allow withdrawals of COINON and SKY

winner 🏆 🏅

LBank

  • accepts USDC (ARB) deposits
  • allows deposits, trading and withdrawals of all 8 tokens and the tokenised stock COINON

winner 🏆 🏅

Note: we have been using both platforms as each provides a feature that the other does not.

Zcash Dust

Found some Zcash dust in the Ledger Nano wallet, leftover from Pipeflare days. It had been stuck there since Zcash was $40 AUD. Now that Zcash is $1169 AUD it is no longer dust.

Note: Zcash is a UTXO based currency and not much good for micro-payments as the network counts all the inputs and outputs. The fees had always exceeded the amount ZEC in the wallet.

When tried to send to WEEX it came up with “insufficient funds”. No way the fees could be that much. Instead of choosing the “max funds” button, manually added an amount less than the max spendable. Bingo. Sometimes Crypto is Easy.

While I was mucking around with the Ledger Nano, found some non-dust USDT that had been forgotten about from 2025. Bonus.

Staking SOL

Tried to stake the SOL but Ledger reckoned the minimum required was 1 SOL.

”Effective June 18, 2026, the Solana blockchain has implemented the SIMD-0490 protocol update, mandating a minimum staking amount of 1 SOL for newly created staking accounts”

Will just have to wait till have collected the 1 SOL. Which works out about right as that is a good $$$ amount to collect of the tokens. So withdrawal fees are not too restrictive.

Once reach the 1 SOL staking requirement the SOL dust can go direct to LBank (or WEEX if needed).

Nearly reached Silver Level on Solpick so the faucet payout triples to 0.000015000 SOL. Every little bit of Crypto Dust helps.
