For today's brief introduction for those musically inclined minds I present to you... Moon Hooch.
3 Piece, brass and beats.
Although they have their own definition of the sound they have, I like to think of them as Rough Jazz, others might lean towards dance or even house, they have been labeled as Brass house, they call their sound Cave Music!
The band formed roughly 10 years ago whilst studying Jazz together in New York, they have made a name for themselves thanks to their unique sound, which evolved from just jamming normal jazz in New York subway stations. Through their busking and keeping a keen eye on their audiences they moved into their own direction of lively brass based dance music.

The Band
This magical 3 piece use to consist of Wenzl McGowen, Michael Wilbur and James Muschler, the drummer who sadly left the band late 2019.
The two saxophonists make use of various brass instruments, ranging from Sax to Contra Bass. The make use of an antique contra bass in their song Contrabass dubstep which they uncovered and saved from a school storage room.
The now ex drummer is one of the best drummers I have seen or heard in a very long time, the dude has some serious skill. He also added a good dose of strangeness to the band.
All 3 members of the band bring high energy to the stage and their performances always get the crowd moving.

Albums
Moon Hooch have 4 full length albums, starting release in 2013 with a self titled album.
Their next two albums took a different root as they started introducing synths and vocals to the mix. (This is Cave Music 2014 & Red Sky 2016)
Their latest album Life on Other Planets was released at the beginning of 2020.
