Solana surges past $93 as ETF inflows, USDC minting, and memecoin rebound fuel a strong breakout rally

SOL Surges Past $93 on Strong ETF Inflows, USDC Minting, and Memecoin Rebound

Warm greetings to traders everywhere, hope you're all doing well. When we talk about crypto, SOL deserves just as much attention as BTC and ETH. Solana climbed 14% over the past week. Institutional interest is flowing in through ETF inflows, Solana memecoins are rebounding with names like BOME, SPX, $WIF, and PONKE, and Circle just minted hundreds of millions of additional USDC on Solana. Pretty impressive, right? Solana spot ETFs in the US also keep posting net inflows, even if they're still small compared to BTC or ETH. This rally lines up with a breakout above the key resistance level around $80 that had held for a long time, and it's happening alongside a broader crypto market rebound, complete with a short squeeze and macro liquidity flowing back in.

SOL's market cap briefly crossed $50 billion, with 24 hour volume jumping significantly too. That shows just how strong Solana's ecosystem and investor interest still are. Circle, the issuer of USDC, has also been minting heavily on Solana lately.

News solana
This week, through August 19 - 20, total minting reached roughly $1.25 billion to $1.5 billion. There was a single mint of $250 million on August 19, followed by another $250 million on August 20. That's added a significant amount of stablecoin supply to Solana, pushing USDC supply higher. Large mints like this usually signal rising demand for liquidity, whether from institutions, DeFi, or trading activity.

Net inflows on August 20 alone came in at $14.58 million. Total cumulative net inflows into Solana ETFs have now reached around $1.18 billion, based on real time data.

Total SOL Spot

Meanwhile, SOL hit a fresh high today around $93.35, genuinely surprising given the pace of the move. The first resistance zone at $83.45 - $81.10 has been broken, with the next resistance zone sitting at $98.55 - $95.85. It remains to be seen whether SOL can reach that second zone as early as tomorrow.

Tradingview chart SOL

Fundamentally, Solana still draws strong interest, especially from Wall Street and other major players supporting the ecosystem's growth and helping stabilize its market price. While Solana isn't as dominant as BTC or ETH, its ecosystem remains a key driving factor, and the decisions and policy moves around Solana continue to stand out as genuinely impressive.
