Hello everyone,
I noticed today that #LTC has increasing lows since 2018, thus it's more than alive as a long term investment. (we always try to predict the future based on the past, of course. Nobody can tell you what will happen in the case of a disruptive innovation).
And then, I wondered how good it stands combared to investments that is (let's call them as) more "safe", or more "traditional" if you prefer.
So, this is not an extensive analysis, but it will give us a nice clue to start with.
The LTC lows I mentioned before are as follows:
18.03.18: $22.17
09.03.20: $25.00
13.06.22: $40.32
05.08.24: $49.90

That is a 225% increase in six years - and we are talking about the lows, ie bad times to sell.
But how is Gold (#XAU) doing?
At the same dates, between 18.03.2018 and 05.08.2024, gold's value increased by "only" 180.87% (from $1,307.21 to $2,364.40). Not bad either, but worst than LTC
Finally, I wanted to check if these two long term investments can beat inflation. A quick check on EU consumer price index reveals that prices in eurozone increased by 126% between March 2018 to Aug 2024 (cpi from 103.17 to 130.88). So, yeah, money on LTC were well spent.
Good luck and be healthy
