In a previous article, I talked about whether I need social networks, and in particular Solcial, how they can help me in the context of my main job. I received quite a few questions about what level of subscription, what will be available and for whom, what opportunities I see for monetization.
I want to emphasize that what I will outline below is my first sketch of how I see my interaction with Solcial. Perhaps, in the course of further discussions, everything will change dramatically. But you have to start somewhere. Here we go.
As we know the first level of subscription in Solcial will be available to everyone. Accordingly, there will be no information, audio, video, photos and documents related to my personal life and scientific work. This level will have everything you need to interact with my students. Issues of the educational process, organizational issues related to practical work, reports, abstracts will be discussed. We will analyze the points that were not clear in the lecture material.
It turns out that the first level of subscription is ideal for online consultations at almost any time. Everyone now has a smartphone with Internet access. Like a bulletin board. Educational presentations, photos, audio recordings, self-study materials, forums, polls, polls and comments will help you to establish and improve collaboration. And as a result, we get closer interaction between the student and the teacher, both in the educational and educational process.
The second level of subscription, which will already be paid. At the moment, I cannot say about the economics of the process, how much the subscription will cost, how and to whom to give access to private levels. This is the task of the next stage. Well, now back to the second level. This level will be for the popularization of science.
For the last ten years, I have been faced with the fact that very few children have critical thinking and, in general, reliable scientific knowledge, at least within the framework of the school curriculum. Many of the guys in the eleventh grade have no idea what they want to do and where to go to study. Today we have a general crisis in the field of natural sciences. And since modern children prefer social networks, then there, I think it is necessary to place materials that form interest in science. These can be popular science lectures by me and my colleagues, videos of experiments and explanations of the results of these experiments in a simple and accessible language, explanations of some scientific facts, reviews of research by scientific schools in the country and the choice of the future Alma mater. Therefore, my goal is to popularize the natural sciences among schoolchildren and applicants in order to attract them to technical specialties.
The third level of subscription. It will be available to fellow scientists and a close circle of friends and relatives. There will be photos of children, some joint gatherings, trips. But the bulk of the information will be related to scientific activities. Information about presentations at conferences, publications in scientific journals, reports. We will be able to discuss issues related to the discussion of model concepts and hypotheses about a particular effect in the results of experiments, and exchange of views. It is much easier and easier to search for new employees for the team, since it is much easier and easier to disseminate information within the same community.
Why do we need a third circle, because you can create a community in any social network. Because some of the results have not been published yet, these will be the results of this study and it is incorrect to share them in the public domain. Because plagiarism is very “developed” in the scientific community, some of the data can be borrowed and passed off as one’s own, because the results can be secret and only certain people can be allowed to discuss.
It seems to me that a rather interesting prospect of using the new social network Solcial looms.
