The most common product consumed by mankind is information. Demand has always been high. Especially in the current conditions, its role and importance is growing like never before. The development of information technologies, in particular the Internet, firstly, accelerated the process of preparation and dissemination of information, and secondly, expanded the possibilities of its perception to unimaginable scales. In this situation, the truthfulness or falsity of the disseminated information faded into the background.
It is noteworthy that today there is a lot of misinformation not only on the Internet and social networks, but also in the news of serious electronic media, especially on news sites. False, misleading information can negatively affect the minds of the audience and undermine various attitudes, social norms, values and traditions. That is why, in the current conditions, the problem of false, fictional and fake news, that is, fake news, has become one of the most important topics in the modern world.
Unlike traditional, official, outdated, dry, fact-based information, fake news, which is attractive and interesting by nature, is distinguished by its creativity and sensationalism. Experts call the present time the “epoch of post-truth”. This interpretation is actually a manifestation of the modern digital society, in which the value of a fact is inferior to the feelings and mood of people.
However, researchers are not focusing on how a fake is formed, but on the question of why it spreads. This is explained by the fact that there can be a million reasons for creating false information. But most importantly, it has a chain structure. Remember this. As an example, we can cite the allegedly unknown poem by Pushkin, which he wrote during the cholera quarantine in the Boldin autumn of 1827. “At first it was written by a blogger as a congratulation on the Nauryz holiday. Another girl sent it to her classmates on social networks and joked that it was Pushkin. And then everyone started shouting happily.”
It turns out that a fake is a collective work, information that acquires details as it spreads, and it is usually difficult to track what it was like in the bud and where, in fact, it originated. But nothing is impossible. Moreover, progress does not stand still, technologies are developing, and now web 3.0 is on the threshold and begins to replace the previous generation of web 2.0, and if artificial intelligence comes to the rescue, sooner or later we will be able to solve many issues.
Recently, in the social sciences, scientists, journalists, and information security specialists have been seriously dealing with the problem of fake news.
Exorde is a web3 protocol that allows developers to collect and link all public data on the web. To be able to track and aggregate all this data, Exorde opts for decentralization and open source. What does this mean for us ordinary users? This protocol collects all possible information from articles, videos, audio, social networks, in a word from all places where there is at least some minimal data. And at the output we get data that connects all similar facts. And this is just the tip of the iceberg, because the Exorde protocol can be used not only by ordinary people, but also by various organizations and their leaders, various media and media, investors and financiers. And that's just the first thing that comes to mind.
What can we get using the Exorde protocol:
- track moods around any important topic for a given day and hour. For example, politicians can monitor the mood around their election campaign, analyze the spread of disinformation in the media and the media.
- check user links to virus information.
- make more balanced decisions for corporations based on more complete and reliable information.
The Exorde Labs team also announced the launch of Testnet v1.1. After all the improvements, data processing, observations and protocol setup of Exorde, anyone can become a tester.
The team has now released web scraping modules (only compatible with Windows for now. Linux and Mac coming later this summer) to participate in Testnet. At the moment, scraping (targeting an automated data collection process) is carried out on Twitter and Reddit. As we move forward, resources will expand, in which data collection will also take place. Moderation and formatting processes are also available. Moderation is a deterministic validation process to check if the URLs provided during scraping are valid (relevant, not dangerous, real data, etc.). Formatting is the process by which each block of data is broken down into sentences and parsed separately to link the information at a more detailed level.
At the next stage, it will be possible to download modules with open source code and take part in the next stage of the testnet. This phase will include more detailed web panels showing the block and data mined in the Exorde network, the number of free and employed workers, protocol details with additional statistics, URLs and much more. And at the last final stage, Testnet v0.2 will already be with improved staking mechanisms, rewards and dynamic protocol settings.
