We posited before about what, if anything, might constitute checkmate if you will in terms of the long, brutal, and grinding war between the HODLers and the Status Quo - and by that we mean, of course, the war over Bitcoin.
What Would Constitute Checkmate?

Let's face it - there seems to be a whole bunch of Bitcoin positive events (on the surface, but yes overall) lining up all at once. It's almost as if there is a mad dash from the Status Quo to be a fully functional Bitcoin friendly operation overnight. To wit:
HSBC Hong Kong - opening floodgates to ETF and exchanges for Bitcoin
JPM Coin - looks like plan all along was to crush the regionals (SVB, etc.) and let the Fed's shareholders take the stablecoin business
Citadel, Fidelity, Charles Schwab - more ETFs and a new exchange.
BIS - positive/receptive
IMF - admits Bitcoin is inevitable
ETF BlackRock - institutional floodgates and life for Coinbase
This is not checkmate yet in our view, as we still have not yet seen the market conclude that QE/YCC is inevitable. The market teases this but things are still hanging in the balance.
