Is "Fundamental Analysis" Dead in Today's Crypto Market?

By Larczu | Altcoin Radar~ Hidden Gems | 10 Nov 2025

Let's be real for a second. Look at your portfolio. How many of you are currently "bleeding" out because you held onto those solid, fundamentally sound, "world-changing" coins?

Meanwhile, you're probably watching some random coin with a frog or a dog picture pump 1000% in a week.

It actually hurts to watch, right? You do the research, you read the whitepapers, you follow the devout teams, and you get... sideways price action. Someone else throws money at a ticker they saw on Twitter five minutes ago and buys a new car next week.

I'm writing this because I'm seeing a crazy trend lately that we can't ignore anymore: Narrative and Community > Technology.

That seems to be the new golden rule of this market cycle.

Fundamentals vs. The Hype Machine.

On one side of the ring, you've got genius developers building insane technology—things like ZK-proofs, complex interoperability layers, and real-world asset tokenization. They grind for years to ship flawless code. The price? It moves like a turtle.

On the other side, you have a token that was likely minted in about 5 minutes. It has zero utility. It’s literally just a joke on Crypto Twitter. But it has 10,000 fanatics screaming about it in Telegram every second of the day. The price? Moonshot overnight.

Why I'm Starting to Doubt "Utility"

Here is my unpopular opinion: Most retail investors don't actually care about decentralization or the underlying tech stack. Be honest with yourself, we mostly care about two things:

Green candles (Number go up).

Is the community fun to be a part of?

If a project has god-tier technology but the Discord is dead silent, that project is effectively dead to the market right now. Memecoins understand something that "serious" coins often forget: They don't sell complicated tech promises; they sell a vibe. They sell a tribe you can belong to.

Is It Sustainable Though?

Obviously not forever. Meme trading is essentially musical chairs with money. When the music finally stops, someone is absolutely getting wrecked as the eternal bag holder. We all know this.

But the real question we have to ask ourselves right now is: Is it better to risk it on these narrative plays for potential 100x gains, or keep playing it "safe" in utility coins that are barely moving 2x a year in this current environment?

I genuinely don't know the answer anymore, and it's making me rethink my entire strategy.

What about you? If you had $1000 to deploy today, are you sticking with "Team Utility" (safe plays, good tech) or are you joining "Team Degen" (memes and narratives)? Let me know your honest thoughts in the comments below.
