Hello everyone! So in December 2020 I decided to enter some crypto airdrops to see if they are legit and to learn about new projects! All of them were free and this is what happened.
⦁ Uniswap Gold
This project in particular caught my eye the fastest and the hardest because of what it was promising. The aidrop was 500 UNIG which was valued at an aproximate $500 and you can receive an extra 250 UNIG (~$250) per person you refer. So me being me I tested this on alt and you had to use their telegram bot. Alarm bells started going off in my head, because what legitimate project would ask you to use a telegram bot to receive the tokens. I have heard of MCER using a telegram bot and as far as i have seen it is legitimate but dont hold me to that. So to "receive the airdrop tokens" you had to solve a mathmatical equation, join their telegram channel, follow them on twitter and retweet their pinned post, and then sumbit ur twitter handle, follow them on medium and then submit your medium username and last but not least they require you to submit your Ethereum address so they can distribute the tokens. The distribution date was set to be January 1st 2021. It is now the 9th of January and im still waiting on my tokens. I used this ethereum address and if you look on etherscan or any blockchain explorer you will see that I only have some cComp, Ampleforth and Basic Attention Token. So I can happily say that this airdrop was a scam. If you try to interact with the telegram bot it is unresponsive.

⦁ MarcoPolo Protocol (Map Protocol)
Extremely similar to the uniswap gold airdrop, MAP protocol uses a telegram bot to "distribute the tokens" to the users. I think you know why i used air quotes..
To participate in this airdrop you had to:
- Chat with the telegram bot
- Join their telegram group (+20 MAP)
- Follow them on Twitter (+10 MAP)
- Retweet something on their twitter (+20 MAP)
- Submit your details to the bot
You will then receive 50 MAP Tokens. This was an absolute shambles of an "airdrop" as after the so called distribution date loads of people came storming to their telegram group saying that they did not recieve their tokens. I was one of those people and do you know what the "moderator" said to me "lol, I guess you were late" I was not late and did it as soon as the airdrop was announced. This was followed by some people who claimed to have recieve their tokens laughing. I checked their telegram group as I was writing this post and no surprise to anyone, they have deleted their telegram group. Once again you can check my wallet address and I still only have AMPL, cComp and BAT. This airdrop was a scam.
⦁ Cryptoenter Airdrop
This airdrop absolutely pissed me off the most because of how much work you have to put into it to receive nothing. Cryptoenter is an exchange that claims to have been sponsored by IBM or something, who cares their airdrop was scammy anyway. So they were promising a minimum of $33 worth of a token called LION, but the funny thing is when you try to go to cryptoenter.com THE PAGE DOESN'T EVEN LOAD!!!!! 10/10 scam will do again.
⦁ Binance Trust Wallet Token Airdrop
So no one knew about this airdrop until it was given to peoples wallets. 100% Legit i received my 100 twt and sent it to my Bep20 wallet and swapped it for Chainlink on PancakeSwap.finance.
My opinion
All of these "companies" if you can even call them that are trying to recreate the uniswap airdrop. So many people made alot of money from that airdrop. Have you noticed that all of these brands are also promoting a private sale or ICO on their social media page which they get you to retweet. So my only guess is but getting people to enter this airdrop they are using it as free advertisement for their shitcoins. That is kind of smart, getting people who will do anything for money to promote a scam. Remember if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Have you also noticed that airdrops with requirments that are made by shady companies are always going to be fake but airdrops unannounced until they are given to wallets are always legit?
Examples: 1inch, Uniswap, Pancakeswap, Trust Wallet Token by Binance etc.. I know that those dex's have requirments for the airdrops but they arent to promote their social medias, or have a conversation with a telegram bot, they are usually to make a trade before this date or make multiple trades.
Thank you so much for reading and dont waste your time on these scammy and shady airdrops. :)
