10 more star wars 2016 sets, how much did they go up in value

Continuing from the last Lego star wars sets we have 10 more 2016 sets, to see whether they would have been good purchases.

We are reviewing what discount price we could have bought it at, and whether between 1–2 years after retirement we could have made 100% return on investment by selling them. As a rough guide we need the amazon price to be three times the purchase price to cover all fees and still be taking home 100% ROI

75135: Obi wans Jedi interceptor RRP: £19.99 Release, 01/01/2016, Exit 31/12/2016

Only out for a year, I often think the space ships are good sets as they old good collectible value.

Could have comfortably picked this set up at £15 good solid 25% discount

After one year it was looking at £35 about a tenner under our golden 100% mark, year 2 this mark was hit at £45

Then after another couple of years old it goes much further up at over £190 wow simply wow.

lego 75135

75136: Droid escape pod RRP: £19.99 Release, 01/01/2016, Exit 31/12/2016

This set same RRP and same life span as the interceptor. Similarly good discount would have been at £15. Year after not quite hitting £15 Year 2 a small jump to £35 so not the 100% we are hoping for. And can still currently be picked up for less than £40 some years later

75136

So not a great buy this one, same advice avoid these bad buys as best as possible by checking out the BSR whilst they are on the market to know the price is a good one

75137: Carbon freezing chamber RRP: £19.99 Release, 01/01/2016, Exit 31/12/2017

This set out for 2 years. Could have got this set for less than £14. A year after retirement was pushing £40 very close to 100% But no more the following year. Currently however at £80

Decent increase all round

75138: Hoth Attack RRP: £19.99 Release, 01/01/2016, Exit 31/12/2016

Another set only out for a year. Again discount at less than £14. One year after retirement was at £35 some way from 100%. Year 2 a bit closer

But now currently at £75 another that has continued to grow

75139 Battle on Takodana RRP £54.99 Release: 01/01/2016 Exit 31/12/2017

A more expensive set this one. A good price would have been under £40. Howver the set never really reached the heights we would want, only ever knocking at around the £70 mark so this one not a great buy.

75140 Resistance troop transporter RRP £59.99 Release: 01/01/2016 Exit 31/12/2016

You could have picked this set up at discount for about £40.

After a couple of years it was about £70 so long way off our target price points and is still not quite there yet either, just hitting £100. You would make money but some way off our 100% target

75141 Kanans speeder bike RRP £19.99 Release: 01/01/2016 Exit 31/12/2017

This set can’t quite see what price point would want, around 25% would be good making it £15, the set didnt quit ego up as quickly as may have liked. Taking 2–3 years post retirement to get to the golden target of £45 since then it has gone up and up. Currently at £80

75142 Homing spider droid RRP £34.99 Release: 01/01/2016 Exit 31/12/2017

Would hope to get this set at worse about £28. Within 2 years we would be sitting pretty looking at £90. Again the set has gone up and up currently at £170, very nice return.

75145 Eclipse Fighter RRP £39.99 Release: 01/06/2016 Exit 31/12/2017

This set was briefly available for £20 or half price, but it really needed this whopping discount to get a good return. Not going as high as we would have hoped. But after a couple of years 100% obtainable

75147 Star Scavenger RRP £54.99 Release: 01/06/2016 Exit 31/12/2017

This set could be picked up for £35 or a healthy discount of close to 40% off.

But we had to wait 3 years before getting a decent return at 100% eeked up there rather slowly

In summary we would not have lost money on any sets which is a really solid investment but however we wouldnt be regularly hitting our targets of 100% within 2 years with many sets.

It seems the longer we held these star wars sets the better the return would be.
