Cyberpunk 2077 delayed once again. Three weeks before the previously announced premiere date

This is not a joke. Despite many assurances that there will be no further shifts, CD Projekt RED today announced another change to the release date of Cyberpunk 2077. The studio explains its decision with the desire to refine the game for current and future generation consoles.

The studio informed about the third postponement of the Cyberpunk 2077 game premiere on social media. So far, the game was supposed to premiere on November 19. The new release date is December 10. "It will certainly arouse a lot of emotions and raise numerous questions, so for a start - please accept our warm apologies" - write the heads of the studio in a press release.

An additional three weeks may help prepare the so-called Day 0 patch, i.e. a patch released on the day of the premiere, which is to fix all the errors that were detected from the time the game was sent to the pressing plant (obtaining the so-called gold status) to the day of the premiere.

"The most serious challenge we have to face now is the simultaneous premiere of the game for the current generation consoles, new generation consoles and PC, which means the need to prepare and test as many as nine separate versions (Xbox One / X, compatible versions of Xbox Series S | X, PS4 / Pro, version compatible with PS5 and PC and Stadia) - and we have to do all this from home. Considering the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 began to be treated almost like a game dedicated to the new generation of consoles in the course of production, we have to make sure that everything works as it should. We know that - given the scale and complexity of the project - 21 days may seem like a short period, but trust us, it will be enough, ”we read.

"We believe that Cyberpunk 2077 is a fantastic game and we are ready to make any decision - even the most difficult - to bring you a game that you will love"
