I was talking to my friend about cryptocurrency a few weeks ago, expressing my surprise at the sudden surge in price. She casually said her cousin got gifted a couple of Bitcoins a few years ago just for fun, but she never really bothered to check what was all the hype about it. Well, I told her she might be getting rich soon :) 

This expresses exactly the self-inflicted problem women face!  Lacking self confidence, hesitant, avoiding risk or indifferent? Of course they will miss the chance to progress in this male dominated field.  No friend I know owns any cryptocurrency. Only recently young women are catching up. According to the latest data  79% of the cryptocurrency market is dominated by young men and 21% women.That seems like bad news for women but compared to 5% a few years ago this is a lot of improvement.

So why are young men aggressively dominating this new market? Maybe by nature they are riskier, maybe they know the market, or maybe they can be risky and loose it all because they have time to rebuild their fortunes.   

What would you suggest to younger women?
