Google Antigravity Agent Manager: Alternative to Claude Code is here 👀
Google just dropped the real upgrade we’ve all been waiting for - an agent-first “Mission Control” that lets you delegate entire coding tasks while you focus on architecture and vision.
The Agent Manager is the core interface of Google Antigravity, a new agentic IDE built on VS Code but redesigned around autonomous AI agents powered by Gemini 3 Pro. Instead of chatting in a sidebar, you get a dedicated window to spawn, supervise, and coordinate multiple agents working in parallel. Like Claude Code with fully-fledged UI.
Key Capabilities:
✅ Multi-agent orchestration — spawn specialized agents for different tasks
✅ Artifact-based transparency — plans, diffs, screenshots, browser recordings for trust
✅ Asynchronous background execution — agents keep working while you switch contexts
✅ Inbox-style notifications — pending decisions and progress updates in one place
✅ Built-in browser & terminal — agents can test and verify without leaving the environment
✅ Workspace integration — seamless handoff between agents and human review
The Setup:
1. Download Antigravity from antigravity.google (free), open a project folder, switch to Agent Manager, and create your first task in natural language. Install the Chrome extension for full MCP tool access.
2. At any point, you can toggle between the Agent Manager and the editor by hitting CMD+E (Mac) or CTRL+E (Windows), or through the Open Editor & Open Agent Manager buttons at the top right of the menu bar. You can also manage your editor windows through the manager, either hiding, focusing, or closing them.
