Hivemapper Weekly Earnings - Part 6

Hivemapper Weekly Earnings - Part 6

I purchased an additional dashcam on November 26th with the expected shipment to start some time in January. I already have a driver lined up with that dashcam so I will soon have 2 fleet drivers. I will purchase an another 2 dashcams before December 31st, which will have them shipped to me some time in February.

I will say a very important note with orders.. Dashcam orders until December 31, 2023 will have 2,500 HONEY airdropped per dashcam after the first 250km mapped (each dashcam has a separate 250km requirement). There doesn't seem to be a time limit on achieving the 250km, as long as you order before the 31st, you will be eligible. Visit the official discord found on hivemapper.com for more information.

This week has seen for the first time Map Consumption rewards, which are rewarded when someone uses map credits to access image/features of a section of road that I have mapped.

If you're not familiar with HONEY tokenomics, those who want to use Hivemapper data must purchase map credits to access Hivemapper's API. The map credits are only created by burning $0.005 USD worth of HONEY per map credit and each map credit can grant access to a week's worth of data for one hex. At 50 hexes per km, it would cost roughly $0.25 USD to get one week's worth of data for 1km. More detailed information can be found at https://www.hivemapperfoundation.org/burn-and-mint

This has been another crazy week for the token price which saw the price of HONEY at a high of ~$0.37 USD/HONEY. It has since dropped which is typical given most people tend to liquidate their HONEY for fiat every reward period.

This week's average HONEY/km is very slightly lower at 2.66 vs 3.22 last week. I don't think it's that significant of a decrease, but it most likely has to do with the fact that I drove mostly the same roads. I do expect it to increase next week because I have actively been trying to drive on a different road as much as possible. I've also taken a bit of time to drive on roads that are stale/new so I get as many max rewards as possible.

Again, if you want to be a part of my fleet, email [email protected] for more information. Typically the agreement will be a free dashcam for a 50/50 earnings split. Split could change based on factors such as daily km driven, length of time being part of the fleet, etc.

Acquiring Passive Income

There are two types of passive income, one where you put in low capital/low work and one where you put in a lot of time and money to replace your day job. We'll mainly be looking into the former which typically won't make you rich, or even as much as a part-time job, but combining multiple streams can get you a decent amount of pocket change that supplements your main income with things like your Netflix subscription. We'll be diving into methods that I've found and ones that I'll be experimenting with.
