I’m only three weeks into my crypto journey investing the smallest amount of money in a relatively established asset. I’ve seen my original £38 stake go up to £47 then now sitting at £42. During that time the value has swung wildly, most notably last night. Significant value was lost across the piece when Elon Musk tweeted that Tesla cars could no longer be purchased for crypto. Shockwaves were felt immediately and prices dipped.

I find it strange how a maximum of 280 characters can bolster or diminish value in a market in an instant. Those comments however come from a key influencer and influencers have value of their own. When Elon says jump, the market listens and reacts. Although many cryptos desire to be decentralised they end up gravitating to a new central point; the influencer.
