Marc Overmars, Ryan Giggs, and Robert Pires to name a few. In this blog, we take a look at my picks for the top five wingers who have been flourishing in the Premier League.

1. RAHEEM STERLING

One of the best in the world right now, Raheem Sterling has everything a Winger desires. He is quick, strong, and has flashy electric feet. He has become one of the faces of the England National Team and is taking the world by storm. His breakout season in Blue came during the 17/18 campaign where he scored 21 goals and provided 16 assists. Manchester City splashed close to £50,000,000 for the young Liverpool winger. The problems started when Sterling only managed 13 goals in his first two seasons playing for City. Everyone wrote him off and criticized City for their "atrocious" investment. That all changed when Pep Guardiola took charge of City and transformed Sterling. From an overrated winger, he became one of the world’s best. Raheem is still only 26 with his best years yet to come.

2. SADIO MANE

It was only January when Sadio Mane was crowned African Player Of The Year. It was no doubt that he deserved it. He won the joint Premier League Golden Boot. Along with African superstars Moh Salah and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang. He's a top-class footballer who gives everything for his team. His ferocious pressing and quality on the ball make him stand apart. One of his most unique characteristics is his ability to keep possession in tight spaces. In the four years, he has been at Liverpool, Mane has imposed himself as one of the Best in the business. He has already scored 14 goals in the Premier League and it doesn't look like he's going to stop. Liverpool bought the Southampton speedster for £34,000,000 and he is more than returning on the investment. He's won the Champion's League, UEFA Supercup, and Club World Cup and he's on course to winning the Premier League title for the first time in his career.

3. MOHAMED SALAH

This man doesn’t need an introduction. The “Egyptian Messi” has been on sublime form since he joined the league back during the 17/18 season. Moh was untouchable that year. He scored 43 goals in all competitions and won the Premier League Golden boot. He hasn’t been able to replicate that kind of stunning performance but he's still scoring goals every week. His ability to dribble and body fake is only secondary to Lionel Messi. In all fairness, it wasn’t all pretty for him. He had joined Chelsea back in 2014 but it didn't work out. He was immediately loaned to Italian club Fiorentina where he got a bit of form going. He was then sold to Serie A powerhouse Roma where he spent two years; scoring 34 goals. Liverpool soon came for him and the rest is history. He's won many prestigious awards. Including theFIFA Puskas Award, African Player of the Year, PFA player of the year and many more. Transfermrkt values him at €150,000,000 and the lad’s only 27 with much more to offer the footballing world.

4. HEUING MIN SON

One of Tottenham's talismans. Son broke out onto the scene during the 15/16 season where he scored 14 goals and assisted 6 in the Premier League. He is one of the most crucial elements in the Spurs team. And is also considered to be one of the best Asian footballers of all time. His pace, dribbling, and shooting capability are outstanding. A humble chap by nature and a huge hit in the south-east. Son has not only helped bring Spurs into the limelight. But has also won the Gold medal in the Asian Games with South Korea. He is valued close to $90,000,000 by Transfermrkt and his stock continues to rise along with his fan-following. He can also play as a Center- Forward in the absence of England captain Harry Kane. Son is someone who can take down an entire defense. On his day, this guy is untouchable.

5. ADAMA TRAORE

The fastest footballer on the planet simply has to make this list. Adama is a beast. He's a player who scare defenses just because of his presence. He's currently having the season of his life. Although he has only scored 6 goals and provided 8, this guy is one of the hardest players to play against. He was part of the famous La Masia academy of Barcelona F.C but things didn’t work out for him and he moved to England. He kept moving from one club to another until Wolves bought him for close to £20,000,000. He is only just starting to find his feet in the Premier League. Managers like Jurgen Klopp have come out and voiced their praises for the Spaniard. His ability to bounce off defenders and deliver crosses is unique. He has the power to keep defenders on their toes whenever he receives the ball. Adama can never be predicted. Anything is possible while he's on the pitch. He has already dislocated his arm twice this season but has carried on like nothing happened. This guy is one for the future and can only get better with time.
