I cannot write the full story of the US presidential elections right now, because there are still some states where the votes are not fully reported. Right now, Joe Biden leads Donald Trump with 238 to 213 (according to Al Jazeera) and 227 to 213 (according to CNN). The difference is not relevant here, because the Doha based news agency went a bit deeper with its prediction and already awarded the victory in some states to Biden. It is for sure that there are only 7 states where votes are still not counted: Georgia, Pennsylvania, Alaska, Wisconsin, North Carolina Michigan and Nevada. There are the key states where the battle is still ongoing. One of these states will decide who will be the next US president.

According to the numbers, Joe Biden has to ensure his victory in Wisconsin, Nevada and Michigan in order to be elected the new president of the US. Throughout the day, Nevada and Wisconsin seem to go to Biden, even if the there are still some votes to be counted. The provability right now of Donald Trump to win here is very small. Looking at the American politics, I can say that Nevada is a surprise for Biden. Four years ago, this state was won by Trump. The most unexpected thing that happened today is how Biden managed to surpass Trump in Wisconsin too. Milwaukee brought many votes for Biden and the state seems to be in his pocket right now. The Democrats get another good deal here.

Since morning, I have watched the news and the preliminary results. The next unexpected thing that happened few hours ago was that Michigan, another key state, seems to go to Biden too. The Democrats get another one, but the votes are only counted around 90,95%. Mathematically speaking, Michigan, Nevada and Wisconsin help Biden to reach the necessary 270 electoral votes in order to win the elections. This is how he can secure his presidency for the next 4 years.

But still, Biden did not win. The former vice-president increased the different and took the lead in Michigan. It seems that there are more and more votes that go for Biden.
The rest of the key states, North Carolina, Georgia and Pennsylvania will probably go to Donald Trump. The popular vote is clearly in favor of Trump, so I believe that there will be no surprises here. From my point of view, looking at the numbers right now, the winner will be decided in Michigan. I will not forget how four years ago I was looking at the same map, and Michigan and Wisconsin went read, for Donald Trump, and secured his victory of 304 electoral votes against Hillary's 227.
