Good afternoon.
As some of you may be aware David and I are from the UK but live in Bulgaria. We don't have many issues regarding crypto here but the dreaded KYC (Know your customer) is never easy.

To buy a house here when we did, you needed a company, so that is all good but that also means your utilities are in the company name. You can see where I am going here. Also when you pay the water or electric bill you get a tiny slip of paper like a till receipt. We never get actuall bills either for the water, you just pay monthly using a bit of laminated paper with your account number on it. We get an SMS with our electricity bill amount to pay and the tiny slip of paper after we have paid it.
David was the first of us to pass KYC for Binance, and although it took a while it did get through so a while later I put my documents in and remarkably I also passed. (I did send my residency card for proof of address and had to send at least 10 different pictures of it). I guess the cyrillic alphabet is not easy for the system to read.
I have been happily using Binance now for what seems like forever and as i am going to be busy for a couple of months I transfered some of our crypto assets to David's Binance for him to manage. That went through fine but when he tried to exchange them he had to KYC again. This time there was a problem as none of his paperwork was under 3 months old.
We went to our internet service provider (who also gives us tiny bits of paper when we pay) to ask if we could have an actual invoice on headed paper, they said yes so that was good, it would take a week though! OK we can be patient. Once we got our document it was back to Binance again but this was also rejected after many photo's. Eventually we did have to go to customer support, who must have thought it was crazy that we never actually get bills, but to their credit they did help and eventually David had passed KYC again.
A lot of what we do on Binance is HNT related, and the ironic part is not 5 minutes after David's KYC was passed we get the notification that Binance was delisting most of it's trading pairs! binance-delists-HNT Honestly you could not make this up. It had been quite stressfull and time consuming having to keep trying to KYC. Now we have to find another exchange we like for HNT and KYC again. We have managed to get KYCed for gate.io but I am not sure yet if I like it.
I find it so frustrating that I had given up on my KYC for Coinbase, even though i was quite envious of David's learn to earn free portfolio. BUT as we had files of paperwork out I thought i would give it one more go. (the last email I had sent to Coinbase was in July and they had not answered that!) Remarkably though after another few days of many pictures being sent, I finally passed.
Wow what a couple of weeks it has been, but all sorted now so that is good.
Has anyone else had KYC nightmares?
Thank you for reading and please feel free to comment.
