How It All Started
In this article I will keep it brief and simple sharing how I ended up deciding to join the crypto path.
If you've been following my blogs you'd know I've been following Bitcoin since 2013 - Discovered in 2010, invested in 2017 and sold a few months right before the mini pump to 20k before eventually dipping back to 2k again.
In 2021 I was the broker than I had ever been, the pandemic affected everyone and besides working in a family business (We all know how that works out in the end) I had a car and dog to maintain.
My pooch was an American Staffordshire Bull Terrier, due to the circumstances I ended up sending him to a nice new friendly, family home. Although it was hard it was the best decision made for him, I hope he's okay.
I couldn't sell my car as I was in the family business, whether making money or not I needed transport to go to the jobs that needed to be completed, the construction site we had finished had defects that kept popping up, one day on in between waiting for part of the job I was working on to "dry" so I could continue with the next step, I whipped out my phone and saw a "Cryptocom" ad, I then went to Instagram as I remembered Elon Musk's "Dogecoin" skit on SNL was being promoted like it was going out of fashion, I was committed to getting some $DOGE and holding until the next bull run, luckily I did research to see if there was a "new coin" on the block that had no pumped yet and came across $SHIB.
Yes, Shiba Inu had already pumped and was retracing too, I mean which coin/token wasn't dumping hard around this period, I ended up diving into $SHIB as it is way cheaper than $DOGE and $7 got a lot more SHIBAINU than DOGECOIN.
Mind you $7 is what I started with, I didn't eat lunch that day and which ever days I skipped on lunch I would throw it into $SHIB. Oh and $7 was half of my lunch meal, I just didn't have pocket change on that day. The next few payments to $SHIB were $50-$100.
About a week or 2 after being invested in Shiba Inu, I decided to join Twitter to see what the community was saying, no doubt there's a demand for crypto and no doubt these "meme coins" had a cult like community that were determined to pump the charts - MOOOOON!!
I slowly molded into a Cryptonian, I become ShibaKan within a few weeks - haha.
During this period another group approached me, I mean, it was the same group from $SHIB community but these cats had made their money from the pump and were looking for a dedicated "Shiller" and I took the risk, at that period I didn't even know what the blockchain was, no one would even bother to explain how MetaMask worked, now it's common sense "Add ETH to your wallet since that's the currency used on the Ethereum network". The issue that lie's here is, I had sent all my $SHIB to MetaMask, wanting to swap it for this new project that was ready to pump. Took me roughly 1 week to get to it this was in between messaging other investors online and the people I sort of had a connection with, keep in mind I had low income and every $1 I spent was equivalent to $1000 and the Ethereum Networks gas fees aren't cheap either.
Once I got it sorted and understood the assignment I sold all the coins I had swapped it to ETH sent it to SHIB and swapped all my Shib + added money on top to $SAITAMA.
This is when my crypto journey really began, I went from investing a meme coin to having a close connection with big players in the game, people I thought had the best of my interests, business is business as usual and we all learn.
I stuck with this project through the bull run and HODL'd right back to the bottom due to the overload hype that I had never experienced before, imagine being told to not sell or witnessing community members being attacked for selling %20 of their bags? This is quite frightening to a NEW investor especially one that has their name out there. Ofcourse there were the ones selling %100 of their bags too but its your investment you are able to do as you please no matter the market condition. I held... did the other holders that sold their tokens send me a million dollars so I can set myself up? No.
We live and we learn through experience.
Where We Are At Today
It isn't all negative news with Saitama, thanks to their team I was introduced to Lucky Roo, we waited weeks and months for the team to make an announcement and once they did it was official, I was ready to grow my group create a clan of web3 dedicated Shiller's for Lucky Roo Token.
The founder of Lucky Roo (Des Randall) has kept a very professional posture throughout the start of this crypto business, the COO (Richard) is precise with detail work with everyone of his designs for the project overall the men are focused on building a long lasting worldwide brand where everyone is welcome, they look after their staff and community and help in every way they can possible.
That being said, there was an exclusive partnership between Lucky Roo & Saitama, but came a time where the 2 projects ended up splitting ways, this caused a lot of controversy at the time and me being one of the leads in the Saitama community decided to move on from all these shenanigans and focus on myself with a company I thought would be a better decision for me and so far I do not regret it one bit, the Lucky Roo devs have always kept their word and they always over deliver.
I can't go into detail on why the partnership broke up nor want to as I am not writing this article to bash on another project that's not our way but for those that know the history know and if anyone is open for a friendly discussion our devs will be more than happy to talk.
These things happen in business and company's and people can move on.
I personally got over fighting everyday or week with a new project for separating ways, I needed a fresh start a new beginning, so I did, spoke with devs from both sides, made my choice clear. Created a new account and started to grow from there.
Here we are today, 1 year later. The Lucky Roo Casino is almost ready to go live and not once have we spent time on fighting fud and wasting countless hours in groups and spaces about some BS that was being said about us or the devs.
As stated earlier the way the Lucky Roo developers carry themselves and the company makes it feel like home for the admins/mods and community members.
I can't wait to see what other memories we create together in this space, this journey has just begun.
