The movie is the adaptation of the novel written at the beginning of the 19th century. At a first glance, it seems a simple moralistic story about a rich and influential man, who, because of his prejudice and arrogance was about to destroy the happin...

"You are feeling sleeeepppyyy" - How to relax, quickly and effectively

That's a good exercise. I should try this. It might give some temporary release. The problem with stress is that it does permanent damage. We inherited the fight and flight reflex from our remote ancestors. It is designed for unexpected rendezvous with a dangerous animal. The brain reacts to stress by releasing stress hormones in the blood, which raises blood pressure and blocks insulin to deliver more glucose to muscles, enabling a person to either take the fight or run away. However, in order to release the stress hormones, the reason should have been very significant. For example, a large carnivore. In modern life, the sources of stress are quite different, the mechanism is still the same. Because of the constant bombardment of modern sources of stress, with time, the sensitivity of blood vessels becomes higher, and now even relatively small distress signal causes the release of stress hormones in blood with all the associated with it vicious cycle. The relaxation techniques are good for temporary relief, but, unfortunately, they don't affect the sensitivity of vessel receptors. Good luck to you!

Thank you! I am not complaining about my childhood. It wasn't so bad. In fact, there are many other countries where children have much, much tougher time than I eve had. My point is that when I write a story that in the minds of American readers defaults to the United States, I have difficulties with creating a valid back story, as I haven't been exposed to American schooling in my early childhood as well as I haven't been exposed to American cultural stereotypes, its propaganda, and anti-propaganda, its cultural perceptions and values. I lived in this country for a while and learned quite a bit. Still, without this exposition, it is hard to have a profound understanding of my fellow Americans, their motives and their internal world. In fact, it is hard to come up with the start-up circumstances to a story, as my cultural experience would limit me to just a certain predefined set. That's why it is so interesting for me to participate in "finish the story" contests that are offered on Steemit where the startup circumstances are given as well as the outline of the characters and I can proceed by using "budding" method, just follow the logic of the narrative and trying to imitate the style. )
