I for one am looking forward to Baldur's Gate 3... probably not the $60 I'll need to drop on it :D But, I'm sure I'll end up picking it up anyhow. I was thinking about going back and playing some B.G. 1 & 2 to write articles on them, but haven't made time to do so yet. As far as Litebringer goes, it is cool from a technical perspective that they made it a serverless game on top of the LTC chain. And, I understand that's why you would need to pay to do anything - since it's all network transaction fees. I'm just not clear how you would make money from playing it, which seems to be something noted on their site, but isn't really clear how that would work - other than selling your stuff to other players for LTC.

My Splinterlands Self Challenge #3 - Second Season Ends, Next 100 Games

15 Sep 2020 The GCC

16 September 2020
So what do you think about the current state of Splinterlands? And, some of my decisions for the end of the season? :) I think the system is still kind of broken.. the top 3 slots on the bronze leader board are people running 50,000+ card power... top 3 in silver 100,000+ power. Letting people stay in lower brackets seems a particularly poor decision to try to level out the playing field. Hopefully they'll tweak it some more in the upcoming weeks.

Upland Review

15 September 2020
Thanks :) Having played multiple versions of SimCity, I have to say that it is a far more entertaining game than Upland :/ I should also have my next Splinterlands article up tomorrow night as well, after the season ends and I see what I end up with.

My Splinterlands Self Challenge #2 - First Week, First 100 Games

6 Sep 2020 The GCC

The current ranking system still seems fairly flawed. I'm going to write another update when the current season ends In Bronze 3 with a bit less than 400 power, I'm playing against people with 10,000 card power. I'm up to 2,500 ranking, which essentially doesn't mean anything since they haven't split leaderboards out by league. I do think it would be an interesting experiment to try to grind into the top 100 slots from the bronze league, but I haven't had the time to play a lot of games - mainly just been doing the daily quests.

Hello, This is more of a service than a game itself.. they give you points for sending in screen shots of specific achievements in other games that can, in theory, be exchanges for gift cards. Maybe you can run the article through Google translate to get a clearer idea of what I was writing about?

Splinterlands...Lets see whats news (I win some money) with linked Power Level Article

P.S. The whole Hive.BLOG system also seems pretty unfriendly to new users. I tried to post a couple times on there, and ran out of "resources" and had to wait days to be able to post again. Anyhow, I'll probably write my own article about this as a new user :D

Splinterlands...Lets see whats news (I win some money) with linked Power Level Article

3 Sep 2020 (OMG)Old Man Gamer

03 September 2020
Yea, I do think they may be turning off newer players with the new scaling method. For $10, you can now only get from Novice into Bronze III. Bronze II being 1,000 power is just silly for a new player perspective, let alone Bronze I being 5,000. With the previous system, I'd be qualified for Bronze I on my wins, but with only 330 power worth of cards it's going to be a long time to progress. The DEC cost to buy cards is also extremely unclear - so as a new user it's hard to tell what sort of hope you have of improving your deck with your winnings. Anyhow, this is going to turn into it's own article if I keep writing too much more :D

Announcement: Payouts Delayed Due to Extremely High ETH Gas Fees

I think you should look at adding a poll option, so you can take a more official one than just comment threads :) I'm fine with a delay, but it would be nice if there was an option to take payment in another currency that didn't have Eth issues.

There's a couple good articles about what to play, but one of the most important things to look at - is the game fun? Just because someone adds NFT's to a game, doesn't make it inherently good. I can't really speak to either of the games you mentioned myself, not having played them, but maybe I'll check them out. Thank you for the feedback!

Yea, it is also my opinion that most users are here because they're into crypto. Most gaming articles do seem to about blockchain games, which is probably since most authors are also here because they're into crypto :). Building an audience is probably a matter of consistently putting out substantive articles. Granted, this quick post seems to be the most popular thing I've written so far :/ Thanks for the feedback!
