The Opportunities of Open Source

4 Apr 2020 Jaemoney

I think Open source has reached tremendous mass adoption during the last 20 years. Just look a the open source Linux kernel. It is used in millions of android phones, smart tv's, routers, cars and many other devices. GNU/Linux is also the standard Operating system for nearly all internet servers and supercomputers worldwide. Only if you focus on end user software like Photoshop, open source mass adoption hasn't really happened.

I have the coronavirus (it's been greatly over exaggerated)

Up to 20% of the cases are severe with severe pneumonia and require hospitalization. Just because you're one of the lucky 80% doesn't mean that the dangers are being over exaggerated and it certainly doesn't make you an expert of telling others how the disease will be for them. That being said, I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery!

The block-lattice structure is as safe as a blockchain, simply because it also uses blockchains to store and update each account's balance. The difference is that transactions are happening instantly and asynchronously and don't need to be collected and synchronized into a Block. Not anyone can vote. Anyone can freely choose a representative and only the representatives that reach a certain amount of delegated voting weight (0.1% of the online voting weight) can actually vote. Currently there are about 110 principal representatives (=voting nodes) online:

Blockchain in Switzerland - Legal Foundations for the Blockchain Industry

Thanks for your reply. You might be right about that they were aware, but it is not the duty of a nation's government to control if people of foreign countries break the law of their (foreign) country. It was the bank account holders who where hiding the money from their tax authorities and thus it was them doing something illegal. With the logic that the Swiss authorities were aware of the situation and should have done something you could also argue that the U.S. Government is aware, that U.S. companies like Google and Facebook systematically break the data protection laws of other countries and that they should do something about it. But you know what, they are aware of it and they do nothing - because it's not their responsibility.

Blockchain in Switzerland - Legal Foundations for the Blockchain Industry

Good article, tipped. I just disagree with the introduction. Tax evasion by hiding your wealth from tax authorities always was and is illegal in Switzerland, as in any other country. The culprits in the tax scandals of the recent years are the Swiss Banks. They actively helped people all over the world hiding their funds from their tax authorities. But they are companies and not the nation itself.

Just an idea for Publish0x - marketplace or transfer tokens between members

I like your idea. I also like the fact, that you write that dealing with four different tokens drives you crazy and then list 10+ Wallet addresses for different currencies at the bottom ;-) An alternative idea would be to create a "dust converting" option just like on binance, which would allow you to convert tokens of one kind to another directly through the platform operators.

I think mining (be it mobile or not) will never reach the masses. Almost all non-crypto people I talk to about crypto are against mining because they think it is a waste of energy.
