Jetcoin ($JET) is a cryptocurrency token. It has a value all of its own and that value can go up or down. You can collect Jetcoins and HODL them (hold on for dear life), keeping them until their value rises. Market economics suggests that the value of Jetcoin represents the value of the underlying Jetcoin project. There are lots of cryptocurrency tokens out there you'll find, if you're new to this game. Jetcoin is a sports and entertainment media management project. Sports stars, music stars and (why not?) NFT artist stars all require managers to keep their name in the public eye and sell merchandise. Have a look around you. Any posters of icons? Any celebrity biographies? Any products endorsed and advertised by celebrities? While these people are busy running the 400 metres hurdles or crafting lyrics and chord changes a team of other people is often helping to capitalise on the famous name. Traditionally fans have been able to get more or less involved on the retail side (join the Beatles fan club and receive limited edition Christmas singles; win tickets to meet Ronaldo in person, etc.) but they are excluded from the management and merchandising organisation and profits.

Jetcoin is different. With Jetcoin, fans contribute to a celebrity's fame by following them on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and numerous other social media platforms. This raises the profile of the sports star/artist and if you hold Jetcoin for that celebrity the value of that Jetcoin increases as a result of your support. This is the central idea at the core of the Jetcoin project. It's a nice idea. It is another example of decentralisation and the economics of the blockchain democratising another field of commerce, in this case sports and media management. Ideally it cuts out the middle-man and returns the revenue from these sports/media marketed products to the fans themselves.

So that is the theory behind Jetcoin, not dissimilar to a lot of current blockchain or crypto projects. It's the theory of the DAO (Decentralised Autonomous Organisation) really. People come together in large numbers on the internet to support their organisation and increase a token's value. With Jetcoin you can further differentiate by selecting, backing and supporting your favourite sports teams, players and media artists.
