While cruising for new venues to get BTC for free, I came across a website called FaucetPay.
It is wildly confusing but I think the concept is the same as any other paid website. You click a link it ports you to some landing page that blasts you with 25 ads, the landing page own gets a penny and FacetPay pays some infinitesimally small amount of revenue to the user of the site in the form of crypto currency.
The site does not explain how you use FaucetPay well, if at all. There is little guidance to how to get started or how to set up your account, wallet, or even what to do when with you account.
All of the links port you to landing pages that scream malware. Its reminiscent of downloading photoshopped naughty pictures of Trish Stratus via Limewire circa 2004.
It immediately made me worry about my data, and it was unclear how much BTC I was even eligible to receive after I jumped through all these hoops and gave my CPU an incurable disease. Probably not much.
The the inevitable worry on the other end is "is my crypto reward real, and can I move it into a wallet that I know and trust."
The crypto space is based on the concept of trust but is still crawling with scams and I think based of my gut feeling alone that FaucetPay is a bad actor.
Of course I did not waste enough time of the site to find out. Please let me know if your experience was different.
I do not recommend you try this one.
