1 BTC Project - Receipt Hog

This one is slightly derivative but it is easy to use and I did manage to get money off the app in a short about of time. Making purchased is part of everyday life, every time you make a purchase (at least in Canada) a receipt is made. Purchase data is important to many vendors and advertisers. Receipt Hog gives you the ability to capitalize on this by allowing you to monetize your receipts.

Its very simple. Make a purchase, take a photo of the receipt using the app, and get rewarded with coins and tickets.

Coins:

Coins are the in app currency that you can exchange for real world money. The longer you delay cashing out your coins the better the rate becomes. Only receipts from certain categories of establishments get rewarded with coins. They include but are not limited to grocery stores, pharmacies, and convenience stores.

Tickets

Another payment reward for your receipts are tickets. As mentioned above some receitps do not yeild coins, but the app wants to motivate you to upload all your receipts so for the uploads that don't qualify for coins you recieve a ticket.

The app compiles your tickets until the end of the month and then all get entered into a raffle for prizes of in app coins.

Slot Machine

To add another layer of luck, occasionally the app will reward you with a spin on the slow machine. If you line up three matching items the app pays you in more coins.

Payments

1000 Coins = $5

2900 Coins = $15

4300 Coins = $25

6500 Coins = $40.

Receipt Hog pays out in 3 ways: Visa, Amazon, and Paypal. I like to use PayPal because it is the easiest way for me to turn this money into crypto. Unfortunately the withdrawal minimum from PayPal is $20, but I use it as a flow through for other online earning side hustles so its ok.

Once the money made it to my bank account I transfered to my Shake Pay wallet and converted it into 0.000128 BTC.

Now when I make a petty cash with my Shake Pay visa purchase I get rewarded in up to 4 different way.

1- If available I am a rewards member so I get the in house rewards

2- I get 2% cash back in BTC from my Shake Pay visa.

3- I get a few pennies worth of BTC with the Shake Pay app.

4- I upload the receipt to Receipt Hog and build towards another withdrawal.

Although a bit derivative and I forget to upload every receipt I have been enjoying Receipt Hog. Mostly because it does force me to think about my spending if I have a compilation of all my receipts. This was an unforeseen advantage. Hopefully receipt hog is consistent and I can manage to pull $5 monthly out of it. I think it has the potential to be a valuable tool when for this project.

Slow and steady.

I give Receipt Hog 3 out of 5 star. I like it for now. It is annoying and slightly invasive, but it does pay.
