money talks. In 2017, crypto was the Wild West — scams, ICO mania, zero regulation. In 2025, it’s different: ETFs regulated by the SEC, institutional demand, clearer frameworks. That’s when banks swoop in — not just to join the party, but to own the house.
Irony or Genius Strategy?
Was Jamie Dimon wrong? Yes and no.
Wrong because Bitcoin didn’t die. It thrived. But maybe he was just buying time — trashing Bitcoin publicly while JPMorgan quietly built its own infrastructure. Now, JPMorgan isn’t just a player. It’s becoming the hidden dealer: issuing coins, managing ETFs, building blockchain rails.
This is the biggest irony in finance: The same institutions that mocked crypto are now running the show. When banks say “crypto is a scam”, don’t be too quick to believe them. They might just be clearing the stage — so they can take the spotlight.
