Intro
I know, many of you were expecting a new NFT giveaway from the Periodic Table collection, but today I want to tell you about Presearch.
Before starting the articles on the Periodic Table and the related NFTs, my articles dealt with information and curiosities in the world of crypto.
For a few weeks I wanted to find the time to write some new articles on the crypto world and I already had two / three interesting curiosities in the pipeline.
A few days ago Publish0x launched the contest on Presearch and therefore it is time to complete one of those articles left in the drawer.
What is presearch
Presearch is a search engine that I started using in early December. Apparently it behaves like many other more famous search engines: a field where you can enter the search terms, a button to send the request and pages with results and links to pages of websites that can respond to our request.
The substantial difference is that there is a blockchain technology that allows you to search on a decentralized engine. One of the main goals of the search engine is to respect user privacy as opposed to centralized and monopolistic competitors.
To understand if they are succeeding in their goal, but above all to understand if they are able to give valid results, I did the following experiment. I opened two tabs of my browser, the first with the search engine I usually use, the second with the presearch search engine. I entered the same search terms in both engines and compared the results. I tried the experiment on 4/5 different searches. The result was very interesting: the results were almost the same, some sites were reversed in order, but this can depend on various strategies.
PRE Token
Another strong point that supports the search engine is the PRE token. Based on Ethereum technology, it is used for various rewards in the use of the search engine, such as rewarding those who do research, reward those who activate decentralized nodes, reward the invitation of new users, allow the activation of advertising, and others case studies.
Your first simplest rewards are:
- registration to the search engine is rewarded with 25 PRE
- each search made on the search engine is rewarded with 0.12 PRE (up to a maximum of 8 PRE per day)
- inviting a friend allows you to receive 25 PRE as soon as the friend reaches 50 search reward tokens (this, in my opinion, is fantastic because it blocks any spam subscriptions)
The PRE token is already listed on major exchanges such as Kucoin, Uniswap, HitBTC and others.
The disadvantages
So many good reasons to sign up, but there are certainly drawbacks and I found a big one: the habit.
I liked the project right away, I did some insights and I was enthusiastic about it, but getting used to it doesn't help me. When I want to do an internet search, I always open the usual search engine and in the meantime I think "I could use presearch", but it's too late now.
Placing it in the favorites, setting it in the browser and other tricks did not help me much.
So I came up with a solution that supports the habit and that is slowly gaining the upper hand: I started doing daily searches with presearch on the same topic. Now when I want to search for example the EUR / USD quote, I don't open the usual search engine, I open Presearch. If the habit of years I have not been able to change it suddenly, I have decided to combine other habits.
Your next step
If you are not already using Presearch, my advice is to sign up, perhaps using the following link with my referral: https://presearch.org/signup?rid=2056625.
Once you've signed up, get familiar with your new instrument and start doing your first research. You will be surprised to see the results.
Start using it on a daily basis and you will appreciate the whole ecosystem more and more.
To keep up to date on what's happening, I suggest you include among the authors you follow @Presearch.
Conclusions
I hope this article, away from the NFT world, didn't bore you and you found it interesting.
I would like to have some impression of your use of Presearch, whether you are using it for the first time, or whether you have been using it on a daily basis for a long time.
There would be many other aspects to be explored, perhaps in future articles, such as the advertising system or how to actively participate in the project with a node. In this first article I prefer to just make an overview and let you get started.
