Without doubt this is a tricky race to call. Because value is, as ever, all important some of the outsiders can be played each-way for small sums (Spin The Coin and Book Of Invasions look overpriced at 50.0). The Steward is selected for win purposes here. He was a pretty successful handicapper at a high grade on the all-weather when with Mark Prescott some years ago now. At 10 years old and now with Cumbria based trainer James Moffatt he's been running ok off a mark of 112 over hurdles. Charlotte Jones claims 7lbs and gave him a good ride from the front in a jumpers bumper race here on 20 January. Both Moffatt and Jones have good records in these types of races and The Steward is taken to stay on at least into a place.

I've gone at this a bit fast. It's not made very clear there so we'll assume the tip is to win today. The blog is modelled a little on the format of Hugh Taylor's ATR daily selections who proves at least that it is possible to make profitable selections betting on horse racing. I have been at it a long time and enjoy the challenge of studying horse racing form. Posts here will probably look a bit more professional after a while.
