The SEC overreach on Crypto: Judges says SEC's behavior "constitutes a gross abuse of the power..."

Apparently, the SEC is back at it again, showing their bias against cryptocurrency. At least this time a judge is calling them out on it.

Here is an article talking about this topic: https://decrypt.co/222376/sec-court-sanction-gross-abuse-of-power-debt-box

I have written quite a bit on this site about the SEC and cryptocurrency. I have to say, I have nothing against the SEC. it is generally a needed and fair organization that does the public a lot of good. However, in the approximately two-years I have been involved with cryptocurrency, it seems apparent to me that the SEC is not guided by law when it works with cryptocurrency. It seems to be all "willy nilly like" in it's handling of cryptocurrency.

I have written about how I believe most, if not all cryptocurrency are commodities, bot securities. A judge ruled as such in a narrow win in the Ripple case last year.  The SEC seems to pick winners and losers, names one or two commodities (Bitcoin and maybe Ethereum) and a bunch, but not all others by name in a lawsuit last year.

Imagine if any business that is being overseen by the SEC acted like the SEC has! Imagine it, they would be all over it, and rightfully so. However, they have not oversight, unless a judge has to step in, as in this case to scold them for wrongdoing. Yet, no one will be fired or fined for their "gross abuse" aimed at what appears to be a bias against cryptocurrency in favor of fiat currency.

The SEC should not be in the business of picking winners and losers, they should not be in the business of trying to regulate and make up rules that they are not legally charged to do. There are no real laws or regulations for cryptocurrency.

It is time to act by the US Senate and the US Congress to make real sensible legislation and to hold the SEC accountable.

Cryptocurrency is a fascinating idea, one that has many confused, scared and dismissive of the concept. However, it also is intriguing and likely a large part of the future.
