Just a few short months ago, NFTs were all the rage with some NFTs selling for millions of dollars. Fast forward a few months and some NFT prices have dropped by 90% or more, and rumors and accusations of frauds, rug pulls, and scams circulate like wildfire. Although there certainly have been a lot of NFT projects that didn't live up to their promises, I think it's important to look past the hype and examine the technology behind NFTs and why it is so revolutionary. In this post, I'd like to distinguish the revolutionary technology behind NFTs from the somewhat disappointing headlines that you might have heard.
