When EA releases WRC in November, I plan to play it.
Most likely I will buy it late October or extreme early November so I can start playing it November 3rd. The current plan is to purchase it on Steam.
I am super slow in Rally racing, but I enjoy it the most. I can "compete" against times and do so solo on the course. My lack of speed doesn't impact anyone else enjoying the game. I have tried iRacing and I'm better than the trash, but am trash compared to those who have speed.
Road racing is just not my thing and Oval racing I still am a bit too slow to not impact others racing. Recently, I have done a few rounds on Dirt Rally 2.0 and while I am miserably slow, it doesn't impact other players as I "race" solo on the course.
Currently I do not have a sequential shifter nor a handbrake. The plan is to acquire both and have a few rounds using them before WRC releases in November. I don't want to use them a LOT as I don't want to play a ton of Dirt Rally 2.0 before the release of WRC. I do want to get familiar with the new items though.
I need to learn when and how to use a handbrake as well as get used to shifting with a shifter instead of using paddles.
I'm trying to be patient enough to get a Direct Drive wheelbase and a nice steering wheel for a decent price. If they can also be acquired before the release of WRC that would be a bonus.
When I'm seated, as I am when driving, the effects of the stroke are minimized. I'm just naturally slow. Rally driving is more "active" than other types of driving. Seems like more wheel inputs are needed and the use of the shifter and handbrake will be new to me.
My goal is to enjoy myself and to have fun. Getting better and improving my abilities would be nice, but I'm under no impression that I'm as good as Kalle Rovanpera.
