Checking out new growth on some of the plants I came across a metallic green fly on a leaf. It was a sunny day and just hanging out there. So using my macro lens I got as close as possible and took some pictures. It did not seem bothered by me, not even sure if he knew I was so close with my micro fourthirds camera.

I believe it is knows as a long legged fly, Dolichopodidae being its family. Most species have a green-to-blue metallic lustre, but various other species are dull yellow, brown or black. I like its orange colored eyes and iridescent wings.
Eventually I guess I got too close and it fled to another leaf, though on this leaf it was not alone. A spider was hanging out underneath the leaf. Its web can be seen as well.
The Apple tree leaf it was resting on had a fuzzy appearance. Ive noticed new leaves on this plant tend to have a soft fuzz to it.
Pretty cool to find this fly, its not your average house fly. Has a longer body to it and long legs hence its name. In Georgia I find all kinds of unique insects I have never come across before. Glad we have forests and an ecosystem that allows such diversity. Though sometimes the insects fight back, or I am the prey such as Mosquitos. Other bugs like Yellowjackets can be fierce and something I have to watch out for.
