Installing these studs in my door frame will protect an easy entry if the hinge bolts face outside. In my case they do face outside of the locked door. Watching a physical penetration testing presentation, it was one of the first things they mentioned. By adding this "hing mates" it keeps the door secure even if the bolt is removed.
I installed them the suggested way by the guide, though I found out I needed to do the alternative installation method by installing right below the hinges. I record how I did this and show all three being installed, at the top, middle and bottom parts of the door. These parts costs me less than $50 and is nice to know my door is better protected now. At the very least making a silent entry more difficult and we would be more aware of a break in if that occurred.
I learned alot watching the pen testing video, and glad I was able to patch up one of the weaknesses in a door of mine.
