Taking my 1985 Ford RS200 out to find new challenges, it was snowy and I think it affects the road surface in the game. I get to one of the cross country challenges. I have to switch cars and pick a truck to use. Looking at my options I can pick the Jeep trailcat or a Nissan Titan truck. The Titan is a turbo diesel but its also very heavy. I picked the Jeep in the end, a V8 Wrangler is the way to go. The puny V6 they come with barely cuts it. So getting to drive an upgraded version was alot of fun. Off the line I did not do too well but the power of the V8 kept me up with the pack.
The first jump I was a little off track, bumping into another truck in mid air. I found myself rewinding a bunch to get a good line.
After a few tries I find a good line to go after the podium spots. I find myself battling a Warthog of all trucks. Funny seeing that in the game, guess they are both owned by Microsoft.
I get distracted trying to pass it and slam into the wall, so I rewind some more. Hah I love that feature, id rage quit way sooner without it. Or otherwise have to focus real hard and take some of the fun out of the game for me.
More than half way through the race, I get up to 4th place. And find myself butting up against the 3rd spot. Then with a little luck I speed by the two and find myself in first. Seems getting up to 4th was way harder than getting in the lead. I finish off the race in first, gaining the lead in the last 3/4 of the race.
I head to the next race event and challenge a Raptor on the way, I quickly ditch it and make my way to the next race location. Get a little squirrely in the country on my way to the next spot. Finding myself at another cross country challenge, I do a 360 spin.. Hah having a little fun while slowing down.
