Tip Yourself More?
There may be a good number of readers who are here to try and make an income, and an easy way to make more is to tip yourself (the reader) the lion's share... and I really am curious if this is common here in the Publish0x community.

Let me know in the comments if this is you. I don't want to identify and scold you, so please be honest. It's well within your rights to take as much of the tip as is allowed. They give us that control, so there is no wrong way.
But maybe I can convince you to change!
I have never taken that approach. I never tip the author below 60% of the available tip, and I sometimes give up to 75%. I base this on how much I genuinely enjoyed what I just read, and often how I've come to feel about a particular author.
I do this for a few reasons, I think...
First: I always imagine some karmic consequences from being greedy. I'm not a religious man, but I believe we get out of this life what we put in... so we should give it our all, and we will be more deserving of its spoils-- better relationships, more success, et cetera.
Second: I seem to remember hearing that there would be some kind of algorithmic variance in the total tip... a smaller amount when the reader takes more, and a larger amount when the author is given more. This is a wonderful concept, and I hope it's true (either now or later). Maybe one of you knows more and you can let me know in the comments.

Whatever the case is, I personally think tipping OUR AUTHORS more is better both for the Publish0x platform itself and for us as readers and writers. The content will be better when there is more incentive. This same principle should apply to all platforms like this, in my opinion... I try to tip on READ.CASH often too (my own BCH in that case) just in the hopes that this generosity will be paid forward and back at some point.

But perhaps I'm being too altruistic and naive... if you disagree, please present your case in the comments. I would love to hear any and all views on this topic. There are no wrong answers.
