As I've mentioned previously, I am preparing to publish Book One that launches a new universe into being.
One that is inspired by the STAR WARS franchise but differs from it in many ways, and by quite a large degree. I am NOT trying to do or re-do STAR WARS, it's been done and it's beautiful...it needs NO 're-inventing' at all anymore than does the Mona Lisa or other great works.
Lucas-era STAR WARS is like Gone With The Wind, Forbidden Planet and others that just cannot and should not ever be re-made.
Now, this is a risk for me as there's been many, many STAR WARS parodies over the decades--and that is NOT what I am doing--but it does color things in the general perception, and that's a hill I'll just have to climb.
As that problem exists, I'll give you all a more gainful insight into this universe.
But first, disengage the parts of your brain that deal with STAR WARS episodes 7, 8, and 9 in any serious way.
This universe, inspired by Lucas-Era STAR WARS and how he saw it, his guiding vision of what it was a story...is a gesture of respect towards him.
I hope he sees it all, and understands that because of him, I stood up to tell my own stories.
He is an inspiring creator and a truly great storyteller I aspire to follow in the footsteps of, and continue where he left off.
Also, my works in this universe are for the fans and lovers of STAR WARS who have been disenfranchised and dispossessed since Disney took over.
It's heartbreaking what my fellow fans are experiencing nowadays, and I do sincerely hope that my efforts help make things easier and better for the Fandom while Disney starts waking up and realizing that they have to change things or they will face drowning in red ink.
...and also, enjoy some naughty Mature Adults Only storytelling while they're waiting.
Because this is aimed at Mature Adults, it plays somewhat more in 'grey-shading' than Black & White polarization.
I do so enough to make things richer and more intriguing, but not slow it to a crawl with great ponderings about philosophical aspects.
This Heroic Space-Fantasy after all...FUN has to come First & Foremost.
1; The equivalent of 'The Force' in this universe is somewhat better-defined, but not overly-so as mystery must be preserved for the audience and allow me room to work of course.
There is an 'evolutionary upper limit' with regards to how powerful any being can become with only one, singular exception.
There is the Light and the Dark, but it's more about who you are/the choices you make and a path you choose than a predesignated fate thing or something that pulls you in of itself.
We all make 'Dark' side choices and 'Light' side choices now and then, and one bad decision doesn't make anyone 'Darkside' in real-life...so it's more 'forgiving' and flexible to make character arcs richer.
In the end, a character doesn't get embraced by the dark side...it is entirely up to them to embrace it themselves.
It doesn't call/tempt/entice...things are up to the Person, and their choice. The mountain will not go to them, they must go to the mountain, as it were.
2; There's many 'familiar' themes and things, yet they work differently.
NOTE: Sorry for the 'bland' names below, but I'm protecting the names until things are Published and Protected.
The 'Evil Empire' is an entirely separate power in the galaxy.
There's also The Imperium in addition to the equivalent of the Republic.
Three great powers, civilizations that control thousands of star systems. One 'good', one 'evil' and one...'flexible'.
The Imperium is the oldest of The Great Powers. Then the Republic-equivalent, and finally The Empire which arose after a millennia-ago civil war within the Republic-equivalent and was established by those who refused to accept peace and armistice, embracing Militarism to an overwhelming degree.
The Empire might be the 'youngest' of The Great Powers but it is a very powerful and militaristic civilization to take very seriously.
The Imperium was founded and built by Human-hybrids that are my version of 'the sith' from STAR WARS...except these folks aren't a bunch of psychotically rageful, hate-driven monsters. They are 'The Steel Fist in the Velvet Glove'.
3; Hyperdrive-ramming--as seen in SW Episode-8--doesn't happen in this universe very often and is an entirely invalid tactic unless one is extraordinarily lucky...and one simply CAN NOT hyper-ram a planet. EVER.
I've set the physics to absolutely close that problematic loophole.
4; Energy blades...like the Lightsabers in STAR WARS, these are extremely dangerous weapons.
There's only three groups that use them. In theory anyone should be able to build one and use it, but as revealed in-story there's solid and inescapable reasons why they are not and never will be generally-available.
There is only ONE alloy they have a tough time against and it is rare, extremely hard to make and forge items from. Even then it is resistant, not impervious to these weapons.
These weapons are not thrown together in minutes as we've seen a few instances of in STAR WARS.
These weapons are Significant, made with time, care and patience towards perfection as best one can achieve...and is NOT a task attempted by children, either. It is difficult, challenging, requires a high degree of skill and knowledge.
Acquiring the crystal for one is very dangerous and is the starting part of the Final Trial which concludes only when one successfully builds such a blade that passes inspection and assessment.
5; Super-weapons like the Death Stars and Starkiller Base just don't exist.
No one in this universe is going to engage in such foolishness.
That doesn't mean that engineering similar-scale things isn't done...it's just that building things like such examples of super-weapons isn't very profitable and for one Death Star you can have many, many more warships and thusly increased force-projection.
That said, there are some amazing space habitats on Death Star and Starkiller Base scales.
6; In this universe 75-odd-percent of the Galaxy is unknown, unexplored and uncharted. It is much, much larger than our own with many times more total mass.
Then there's the globular clusters outside the body of the Galaxy but quite reachable via hyperdrive.
There's lots of room to play around in.

7; Starships, those work pretty much like seen in STAR WARS, they're an accepted-as-granted thing in widely assorted sizes, shapes, capabilities.
Working on your ship is tantamount to working on your car in real-life, essentially.
There's informal and dangerous racing events, ships get modified/customized as well as scuffed, dinged, dented and acquire 'grace of age' appearance over time.
8; There are NO 'Mary-Sue' characters.
Every character has a backstory and has earned their way up the ladder even if it's not immediately-apparent.
EG; In STAR WARS, when we first met Han Solo, we had no clue about his backstory, we just accepted he was Competent and Skilled.
Some characters have truly hard-life backstories because they need such to be strong and accept that had they not endured what they did, they'd never have achieved what they have.
The characters are Idealized, as this IS Space-Fantasy/Heroic-Fiction but they are NOT 'Perfect'. They are relatable, that's an important point so the audience can connect to them and thus the story.
Also making 'Perfect' characters is incredibly boring as a writer and kills story-elements like nothing else.
9; I Do Not Kill Off Important Characters Senselessly.
There has to be a Reason, they must have a Good Death, and their death must Mean Something/Have Significance.
Remember how Wash died in SERENITY? Yeah, that kind of thing doesn't happen here.
10; Sexual content and gore...
I'll be keeping the blood and gore toned down to minimum.
Blood and gore have their place and time, but this universe isn't it.
Random Fun thought...imagine STAR WARS done by Ridley Scott. lol
Sexual content is going to be quite hardcore, and very graphically descriptive, but tasteful. Trying to pull no punches yet do things elegantly and tastefully is tricky, but it's achievable.
Some folks will have a problem with sexually submissive female characters in this universe. That's too bad for them, and nothing I'll listen to.
I don't care if people have problems with this point as these female characters are all capable of walking into battle alongside the men and keeping equal score with them.

In this universe, if you see this woman coming towards you, she's either coming as an Dark Angel of Deliverance...or she's about to bring the Apocalypse right to you. Her backstory is one of the more interesting varieties.
This is Space-Fantasy/Heroic-Fiction, just to refresh the point, and some men and women are non-combat 'damsels', to be sure because not everyone is built and geared for the rough-and-tumble of combat.
Being sexually submissive to one's lover doesn't mean that one can't kick ass and take heads, after all...and be beautifully Feminine while doing so.
The female lead in the Book One demonstrates this completely and perfectly.
The male lead, I think my male audience members will like. This guy isn't someone you ever want to be on the wrong side of, yet he also has the well-earned respect and willing loyalty of those he commands as well as the submission and love of the female lead.
He's a Man, husband, and father.
Thank-You again for reading and please feel free to ask any questions.
I'll answer as best-able without risking premature exposure of my story materials.
