Much has been made about the latest tipping currency here on Publish0x, SPOT. I've written about it, as have many others. The main issue being what to do with the damn dog. While the consensus seems to be to just let your SPOT accumulate on P0x until it's inevitability discontinued and converted to ETH, or so most of us think will happen, I wanted to give the SPOT Minting App a fair shot. Here's what happened:
I'm using Trust Wallet, so I hit the browser to pull up the minting app URL.
For whatever reason, the site doesn't display properly on my phone so I have to switch to desktop mode.
Now it's time to connect my wallet via WalletConnect.
I end up having to screenshot the QR code and connect it manually, presumably since I'm on the desktop version of the site and it doesn't automatically sync with the Trust Wallet app on my phone.
I've got 12 SPOT and some change, roughly $13 worth of it. Let's see how redeeming it for AMPL would go.
As you may have guessed by my angry doodle, I'm not hitting the approve button here. To pay that network fee of $11.31 to redeem $13 worth of SPOT for AMPL is just ridiculous. I'm not doing it. So no, it's not worth redeeming SPOT for AMPL, as I see it. But I had to give this Spot Minting App a shot to see what it was all about. For now, I will just let the SPOT accumulate on P0x, and I guess I have some more "stranded crypto" in my Trust Wallet. You live and you learn; no sweat here. Hope this post has been informative.
