Spanning one hundred feet across Marsh Creek in Adams County, Pennsylvania is Sachs Covered Bridge. It links Cumberland and Freedom townships. Originally constructed in 1854, the bridge was heavily used in the aftermath of the Battle of Gettysburg. Specifically, many of the dead were transported across the truss covered bridge. Due to the number of dead that made their final journeys across the bridge, many believe it to be haunted.

Other than some odd gusts of wind, which were likely due to the "wind tunnel" effect from the design of the bridge, I did not experience anything supernatural. Some will say it must be experienced at night. Perhaps that's true, but what I did discover was lots of evidence of the living seeking evidence of the supernatural, some rodent droppings, and interesting graffiti.

My favorite finds were the crystals that were left on one of the side rails and this Ouija board that someone scribbled on the floor boards. While no ghosts or spirits were hanging around this particular afternoon, it was a nice sight amid a peaceful & quiet backwoods creek.
