Splinterlands Challenge of the Week: Nerissa Tridawn

By RealSociology | Retire by 50 | 28 Jan 2023

This week's Splinterlands Challenge of the Week was to showcase Nerissa Tridawn from the Water Splinter....

Yet another heavy mana card for this week's challenge, which is getting a bit irritating TBH, but for the mana she backs a punch at L1 with 3 magic damage and decent health so she should last a while. Her 2 speed doesn't matter so much with a magic attack!

The battle below features a Level 1 Tridawn cheeking her way to victory!

The Rule Set and Line Up

  • Mana cap 18
  • Standard Rules apply (Bronze League!)

IMAGES NOT UPLOADING WTF HIVE?

Summoner - Valnamor

  1. The Stonefish - tank 1
  2. Torrent Fiend - tank 2
  3. Nerissa Tridawn - main damage card
  4. Mershali Guardian - healer!

Did my strategy work?

Beautifully, to see it in action click here!

  • Round 1 - Tridawn takes down the Chaos Agent, I lose my Stonefish
  • Round 2 - Tridawn takes down the Radiated Scorcher, I lose both my remaining two cards, but a handy miss on Tridawn saves her some health!
  • Round 3 - Tridawn takes down my opponent's Ant Miners, but takes two hits
  • Round 4 - She takes down the Serpentine Spy, the Tenyill Sriker misses again!
  • Round 5 - She's down to one health
  • Round 6 - the Teynill Striker misses going first, Tridawn kills him off!

How important was Nerissa Tridawn?

Err, absolutely crucial, she was my only card to do ANY damage throughout the whole game and her high health kept her alive.

However, without three misses this would have been a different story, and that was probably thanks to Valnamor's extra speed buff, and his one magic buff sealed the deal too!

But whatever, a win is a win, so happy days!

Final Thoughts: Nerissa Tridawn - worth buying?

At max level I'm going to say she's only really worth buying for high mana magic focused rule sets, and obviously for lose all abilities...

But she is quite niche for 9 mana, so she's not a priority buy for me I am afraid!

If you don't yet play Splinterlands, why not give it a go?

This blog charts my own strategy and progress, and explores different theories of financial independence and 'extreme early retirement'. It also provides the odd tip on how you might also retire early!
