I have long been a Brave Browser supporter. I wrote my first article about it on Publish0x on January 6th 2020 and that was my 6 month review.
It's a Chromium based browser that has all the BS stripped out of it. I am not going to get into what the Browser is but if you don't use it... then you are missing out on a whole lot.

What I do want to talk about though is that recently, in the last couple weeks, Brave has achieved a 100% independent Search Engine. When you search on Brave Browser you can searching without the tracking and cookies and all that nasty crap that we have all grown accustomed to on the internet.
Think of it like Presearch but sooo much better.
When Brave Search was introduced there were still some API calls to BING (about 7%) but that has now been removed. The reasoning is to not be dependent on the Big Tech companies and to truly be a independent Search Engine. The reason that matters is because Brave's whole thing is to be free of ads and tracking and you can't really do that when you are interacting with Google or Microsoft on your Search results.
Since its launch, privacy-preserving Brave Search has been the only global, independent alternative to serve results almost exclusively from its own index. That meant far less reliance on the existing Big Tech options (Bing and Google) than the supposed alternatives—like DuckDuckGo—that are actually powered by these Big Tech APIs.
When Brave Search launched in June 2021, about 13% of the queries required the help of third parties to achieve the desired level of quality across various types of queries. Total independence, however, was a primary goal of Brave, and in less than a year the Brave Search global independence score rose from 87% to 93%.
Brave averages about 22 million searches per day.
Oh and you know what else Brave is doing? Instead of companies have to rely on Big Tech, Brave is working on their own Search API so that you as a developer could use their Search Engine API that is free from all the Web2 bloat and crap.
You as a end user can help the Brave Search results for everyone who uses it (anonymously as usual) by enabling the Web Discovery Project in the settings.

The point of this article is just to remind you the end user that there is a amazing Web Browser out there that is truly looking out for you and also rewards you for looking out for yourself with Brave Rewards.
If tomorrow Brave Rewards went away, I would still use Brave Browser as my main web browser on mobile and desktop. It truly is just that good of a Web Browser. Not to mention all the features that they are constantly adding to it as well.
So don't be afraid to venture out into the open depths of the interwebs with Brave Browser at your side.
