Sunset. Sundown. Dusk. Twilight.

That moment the sun goes down is an attempt by the sun to showcase all the colors and textures that nature can throw at us. The whole sky becomes a canvas and, in an ideal world, so would the earth with its greenery and hills. The canvases would meet at the horizon and we, mere mortals, would be mesmerized by the contrast between sky and earth; between air and land.
But humans have taken over. Rarely will there be a time when, every evening, we could stare into the horizon with endless sky and endless earth. There will be buildings, vehicles, rubbish, even smoke that interrupts this canvas and tries to compete with it. Even with the best of arhitects and designers, the concrete textures and symmetric shapes are just a faded attempt to compete with nature. But then, man no longer competes with nature for beauty. Man seems to compete with nature for greed and survival; plundering the earth consciously and disrupting the canvas.
This photograph was taken at sunset. The tall buildings interrupting the colors of the sky and the clearing of the natural shrubbery in the foreground are a reminder of the struggles. Nature forgives, never forget. Man plunders.... and forgets.
