How to Prepare Daily Figures from Noise / Celsius

By rah | rah | 14 Apr 2021

I joined Noise:Cash on 16 February 2021 and since then I have got into the habit of posting a Daily Noise Report which summarises the days earnings. I also prepare other data for my own analysis, but everybody knows I love data. From time to time different Noisers ask me how I prepare these reports and I have even been asked where to directly download such reports from (you can't). It is a fairly straightforward process, but it is a process.

Please note that the method I am going to describe is based on if your Noise BCH is going to Celsius (where it stakes at 4.51% APY).

First you need to download your data

Login to your Celsius and from the dashboard click on any of the held currencies. When you have done this scroll down until you see download CSV file which can then be downloaded through your email. Open it and it will look something like this. You will notice that the Coin Amount (important do not confuse with USD Value) is in the yukky code format that Excel likes for some reason. Widen the column to make it fully visible. This can be done by dragging or or simply double clicking the "gap" on the right between the cell and the one next to it.

The first thing i do then is get rid of the unnecessary data. First of all I get rid of all the data from any dates later than those I need. Select all of the rows apart from Row 1 (because it has the headings) above the date and right click before selecting delete.

Then repeat to get rid of the unnecessary Columns (Columns A, C, and everything after F).

Now scroll down to the last transaction of the day that you want. While you are scrolling, verify that everything is BCH just in case other payments have come in. If there are any others delete the rows you don't want by repeating the process described above. Please note Celsius rewards appear on a Monday / Tuesday but they are applied to the previous Friday so they should be out of the way. In the following example I have scrolled down to Row 361. Click on the cell next tothe last Coin Amount Cell on the date you want and click Auto-Sum.

Please note I haven't done it here click in Cell D361

autosum

Please note you now know how many transactions there were - in this case 360 - that is the 361 Rows minus one because of the header row which shouldn't be counted.

AutoSum allows you to select a range of cells so drag from Cell C361 back up to Cell C2 and press enter it will now give you the total. This total however is represented as a formula and cannot simply be copied and pasted. Double click the column so you can see the entire number and then copy the number manually next to it. If you want to verify the accuracy of your manual entry simply divide them with each other. If you are right the division will record an answer of exactly 1. If it doesn't recheck your manual entry.

So now you have the two key data elements - the amount of BCH and the number of Micro-Transactions. which will enable you to present the data or utilise it in any way you see fit. Here is my final report from the data I have presented for yesterday.

Have a great day and stay safe and well
