Hi everyone! I'm a bit late making my Splinterlands blog posts, real life got in the way once again 😅 my backyard got renovated, and while a professional did the renovating part, I had to do everything around it myself so now, while playing Splinterlands and doing the Splinterlands work like making these posts to fund my deck, I have a pretty backyard to look at 😀 let's get on with the post!

This weeks Social Media Challenge is the same as last weeks, share amazing things, so the first thing that comes to my mind is the SPS price that keeps plummeting, and boy the chart doesn't look good at all, we've lost all support levels which we now have to break as resistance on the way up again, bitcoin dumping didn't help either, I've been calling for the BTC dump for months now, and in my opinion this isn't over yet so SPS probably will keep going down also.

I think the main reason why all Splinterlands assets are tanking is still the selling pressure from the btt farm owners that are dumping their assets on to the market, but even the overprinted Chaos Legion supply is drying up, for Kelya Frendul, one of the best Chaos Legion rare summoners in my opinion, only 111 Regular Foil and 22 Gold Foil cards are on the market at the moment I'm making this post.
So when the over supply has been bought up by existing players leveling up their deck for cheap, seizing the opportunity or new players that are building their own decks, I think prices will start to rise once again, so this is a great time to start playing!

Modern Silver league

So, on with today's main topic. With all the negativity out there and blood on the streets (well, at least the whole crypto community is sharing our pain at the moment) the team is working hard to improve the game and fix the mistakes that has been made in the past, one of the most important points is fixing the gameplay for new players because it's been terrible to be honest.

With the recent changes, fighting bot farms and making Wild League a paid league to play in, I started playing my alt account myself again when I have spare time so I can let the battle energy for my main account regenerate.

My main account is now a mix of levels because I made some upgrades lately and I had some higher level water cards to delegate from my main so it's a bit all over the place when you look at the summoner levels. This always has been a bronze account, and before I started let the bot handle it, I was able to compete in silver 2 and 3 with it.
With all the changes I wasn't even able to get to bronze 1 at a point and it got really demotivating, even for an experienced player so I let the bot handle the account for a while.

The bot did earn a bunch of reward cards and even a few legendary but it's missing some of the key cards to really be competitive, it has been really lucky pulling two Gold Foil legendary cards though!

With the Splinterlands team trying to improve the New Player Experience, adding liquidity bots while there aren't enough lower level players, and incentivize players to play in modern instead of wild, it's really improving every season to a point where my alt account is earning a nice amount of SPS again and had already knocked it's way in to Silver 2.

With the new Glint system, I feel it's a lot harder to pull enough cards from the chests to really build your deck at lower level though, where in the old system we earned a bunch of chests every day with at least 1 or 2 cards in them, it's now much more slow going to earn the cards where I need to win 10 battles for 1 major chest to get a 33% chance to pull a card, but maybe I'm just approaching this the wrong way and I should just start with common and rare guaranteed draws, but then I would lose the chance in getting the much needed higher rarities, so many choices!

And of course, every Splinterlands post needs to have a battle in it so let's go!

The battle I want to share for this post is a Modern League Spell Reflect / Born Again ruleset battle with the Water and Dragon splinters locked out. At this rating I'm seeing a mix of enemy teams varying between level 2 and level 6 summoners mostly, I'm having a win rate just above 50% at the moment and it's a different way in playing in low level in a way, Gladiators for example are much more dominant in bronze and silver than they are in higher leagues. Born Again = Gladiators in low leagues, or use Taunt to counter them so their bloodlust can't gear up as fast.

First look at the battlefield:

Whoa, this guy definitely has a big level advantage over me and is doing a serious amount of damage, I don't think my team is going to make this to be honest...

My Line-Up:

• Summoner: Lobb Lowland - reason: Gladiator usage (conscription)
• First position: Fungus Fiend - reason: because of my slow team this is probably going to die before my nr. 2 is able to hit.
• Second position: Hill Giant - reason: Low mana tank with good HP.
• Third position: Venari Marksrat - reason: Martyr.
• Fourth position: Katrelba Gobson - reason: Awesome sneak gladiator.
• Fifth position: Fungus Flinger - reason: Martyr.
• Sixth position: Acid Shooter - reason: Low mana back line protection.

The Battle:

Round 1: Because of the resurrect, not much has happened yet, the enemy sneak team is doing way too much damage for me to outlive it with Katrelba I think...

Round 2: Oh nice! Tenyii Striker got killed for the first time and Katrelba's Bloodlust is starting to gear up, I tend to under estimate my team quite often! 😅 Antoid Platoon's Scavenge ability is growing a lot of HP though, this could be a problem, combined with the Shield...

Round 3: One miss and one kill for Katrelba, she's a lot faster now than the whole enemy team so this is starting to look good, let's hope she can take out Uraeus before it can land the poison on her.

Round 4: Ureaus died for the first time, and the bloodlust is starting to get to a point where she can no longer be stopped!

Round 5: Both Katrelba and Antoid Platoon are getting massive stats, wow! Speed is going to be the important difference now, they won't be able to hit Katrelba once she gets to the first position.

Round 6: Yeah.. good luck in hitting that!

Round 7: I was a bit too late in hitting the pause button, but it's just a matter of time now...

Round 8: Impressive stats!

Round 9: Ok ok, just get it over with, this is starting to get boring! 😅

Round 10: Wow... 14 damage, 15 speed and 16 HP 😇

And it's a win, against a higher level opponent, a good amount of SPS 😍
