Aave Introduces Two New Governance Proposals

By Abhimanyu Krishnan | News | 20 Nov 2020

Decentralized lending protocol Aave introduced two new governance proposals on Nov. 18, aimed at funding governance decisions and preparing for the transition into Aave V2.

  • Aave Improvement Proposals (AIPs) 2 and 3 have been officially submitted for voting
  • AIP 2 is focused on ending the burning of LEND tokens and instead use the fees collected to fund a governance treasury
  • Aave underwent a tokenomics upgrade in 2020, converting LEND tokens to AAVE on a 100:1 basis
  • AIP 3 suggests some upgrades to Aave V1 to make for a smoother migration to Aave V2, which would include a flash loan powered migration tool
