
Tricholoma focale - Hat diameter 30-150 mm. Young half-round, later broad-conical, flat, with a blunt, broad hump. The edge is initially rolled up, with the remains of the casing. The surface is juvenile when young, then dry, radially fibrous, sometimes scaly. Orange-brown, cinnamon-brown, reddish-brown with age darkening, sometimes with a slightly olive coating.
Lamellae adorned with a tooth; white, cream, red when damaged.
Stem 60-90 mm high, 10-30 thick; cylindrical, massive, narrow at the top and narrowed at the base; white with age red brown; below the annular layer, scaly, with brown-red fibrils.
Wool-fibrous ring, wavy.
The flesh is quite fleshy, white, red when cut. Fuzzy taste, flourish smell.
Occurrence: On the ground, in coniferous forests, under pine trees, on a sandy, dune ground. Grows singly or in groups; from August to November. Rare.
Value: Inedible mushroom.
