I've already told you about the blockchain game Mintopoly! before. As Round 4 is coming, I wanted to shoot you a quick update on what's going on.
The next round is starting tomorrow, Friday 13th, at 8 am pacific time (US).

What's Mintopoly About?
Mintopoly is a realtime blockchain simulation game. Time in game is controlled by blocks and each ingame-block takes 15 seconds. All players are on the same block, all the time! You start off with 0.00000005 Mintopoly Coins which is just enough to buy your first Mining Rig, to start generating some income.
The objective is to finish with the highest net worth, which consists out of all your purchased investments, cash on hand and your staking balance. There are different tiers of investments, which have to be unlocked for an initial purchase price. Each tier multiplies your returns for each block, so your networth will skyrocket after some time. 🚀👩🚀
A new round usually starts every 7 days on Friday, so your within the first month of the game! Early adopters unite! 😇
For the first 50 rounds there are Mintopoly token airdrops and some rare NFT-cards on the table. I'll explain more about the NFT and the Token below.

Mintopoly NFT
Right now there are 12.000 limited edition collectible cards, that were minted by the Mintopoly-Team. All cards provide unique gameplay boosts that increase your earnings, lower the initial fees or give you some extra starting capital.
Cards are being minted in small editions of 20-30, but written into the smart contract are constraints that guarantee two facts:
i) no card (other than #1 - the mintopolist) can have an edition size greater than 30, and
ii) there can never be more than 12,000 of these base Mintopoly! cards minted in total – making them scarce and collectible.
I personally love the design and I think there are so many more ways NFT could improve the game in future.

Key Facts of Mintopoly! Cards:
- 12 types of cards - each one provides a different type of boost
- Players can only have one card of each type active in any given round.
- The most valuable card of each type is always the active one.
- Cards must be owned before a round starts, to be active during the round.
- "Promo" Mintopoly! Cards are non-NFT, non-tradable cards. They are given for special occasions, such as being an early beta tester or referring other users. They may be from any category described below, but typically have smaller bonuses than the true NFT Mintopoly! Cards.

The Mintopoly Token
The Mintopoly Coins you are earning in the game are ficticious and you'll lose them after the game ends and after forking, but if you finish the game within the top 200 players you'll earn Mintopoly Token. They are a real Ethereum-based cryptocurrency. In a later stage of the game you will be able to use it to buy NFT cards to improve your ingame-earnings.

My experience with the game so far
I stumbled upon the game after about 2/3 of the first round and got hooked by the concept from the first mining rig purchase. The game was a flashback to old browser game times of mine. This is how it all began for me more than 15 years ago. The design, the functionality, even the built-in learning mechanisms are a reason for me to stay with the game for a few more rounds.
It's still pretty simple but this made it possible to run without any bugs or hickups. The Discord Server is really active and from what I've read so far there is a lot of functionality and additional depths of the game to come on the roadmap ahead.
Here are my 3 tips & tricks for new players:
- In my experience it's good to upgrade your investments to about ~30 and then save your token to unlock the next tier.
- After some tiers the Staking Pool turns passive income to aggressive income. Max it out after some Centralized Exchanges! Timing the 200 blocks to re-up your stake will be your key to the top 200.
- When it comes to Hard Forking my guess is that it's best to do your first fork between 4k - 6k%. Don't fork to early! You will fork things up, if you do it before you reach
1.000,0000%. After you've done your first fork in the high range, the game will get rapid and you'll be able to fork again above 10k% within a day.
