Hive-Engine : Not only for Hive second layer but a window to outside Hive.

When a Hivian thought about the Hive-Engine , the first thought come to it's mind is wide range of tokens that are residing on Hive Second layers that are mostly the Hive tribes/Outpost and it is also home to Hive "play2Earn" tokens like DEC, Starbits, DCALPHA etc that are the games that are created on Hive Blockchain. In short Hive-Engine is backbone of the secondary layer created on top of Hive and it is responsible for lot of economic activities happening in Hive.

Hive-Engine has travelled a long path from it's inception , now it is not acting as the backbone of the Hive secondary layer but it is also acting as window from Hive that allow user interact with other various chains. In short, Hive-Engine is acting as bridge to various outside token by it "Swap." functionality and a free medium to transfer the token to your friends in the Hive ecosystem as transfers in Hive are free. At current state Hive-Engine is acting as a small exchange where you can send your token residing on other Blockchain

Use case that is evident during Polycub launch.

When Polycub launched, many users were looking for MATIC so that they can complete the transaction, even they got pLeo from Hive to Polygon chain, but they do not have that small amount of MATIC to convert pLEO to MATIC also, Many users hopped to multiple transaction on different chain while they can directly send the MATIC from Hive chain only.

In the same way that you can deposit the token also.

Hive- Engine Benefits and Drawbacks

As a Hive user , it is very convenient option and it is actually bridging so many chain with Hive. It really put Hive in center and give you option to move and bring funds from Hive to different chain.

On the negative side, I find fees of these transaction is on somewhat higher side if it is compared with an Exchange.

Look like many users are really not aware of this feature or not using it due to high fees, liquidity is currently a issue for big transactions.

I feel Hive-Engine have nice potential and may be in coming days, we might see that other chains or upcoming token might be listing themselves in Hive-Engine or starting project in Hive as token creation is cheap in Hive-Engine.
