I am posting for the first time in many years, so I thought of starting with the simple and basic routine that our skin very much needs, everyday for a radiant, healthier and younger look.
CTM is a skin care routine that stands for Cleanse, Tone, and Moisturize. Take out 10minutes twice from your day for yourself to pamper your skin with this simple yet effective skin care routine. Follow this twice a day, once in the morning and again in the night before you sleep.
Cleansing removes dirt, excess oil from your skin and clears it off of all the impurities and toxins.
Natural cleansers: Milk, Gram Flour, Honey, Tomatoes
Seven Amazing Natural Cleansers
For Oily skin, use foam-based cleansers to deeply clean the pores
For Dry skin, cream-based cleansers are a great choice to avoid stripping off the natural oils from the skin
For Sensitive skin, use mild cleansers with natural ingredients like aloe vera, shea butter and make sure they are free from alcohol and fragrance which can cause irritation.
Toning balances the pH level of your skin, tightens the open pores and also cleans any residue of dirt left after cleansing.
Natural Toners: Rose water, green tea, witch hazel, rice water
Homemade Toners For All Skin Types
For Dry and sensitive skin, avoid alcohol based toners. For oily skin, look for toners that also cleanses and minimizes the pores like AHAs (Alpha-Hydroxy Acids)
Moisturizing hydrates your skin while keeping it glowing, soft and supple. It keeps the moisture of your skin locked while also providing extra nourishment and hydration to your skin. Regular moisturizing of skin delays the visible signs of aging and secretion of excess sebum.
Natural Moisturizers: Jojoba oil, Mango Butter, Shea Butter, Honey, Almond oil
Tips for better results:
- Follow the 60-second rule. Cleanse your face for 60seconds to dissolve and remove impurities better. Tone and moisturize your skin within 60seconds from cleansing.
- Always clean your hands with a hand wash or soap before washing your face. Our palms contain a lot of germs than we can imagine, avoid touching your face without cleaning your hands first.
- Use finger tips to dab the moisturizer into your skin and be gentle on your skin.
- Do not rub your cleanser too much on your palms to avoid wasting the product on your hands instead of face.
- Never ever sleep with make-up on. Make-up blocks your skin from breathing properly. Our skin repairs and rejuvenates during night time, so it is important to keep it fresh, hydrated and nurtured.
- Gently exfoliate your skin once or twice a week, and no more than that.
- Use sun-screen daily for better skin barrier from UV rays. Never step out without a sun-screen.
A word of caution, do not cleanse your face too many times as it will only result in dehydration and your skin ends up releasing more sebum.
With this, enjoy the rest of your day glowing and charming... :)
